Keri Russell’s envy-inducing mane may be her signature, but she’s been wearing some pretty flawless things on her press tour for Austenland, including this Stella McCartney jumpsuit. Adding to the perfection of this week’s best dressed list is Rooney Mara, looking effortlessly chic in Calvin Klein, Diane Kruger winning us over yet again in Carven, and Lily Collins, who continues to impress us with her risk-taking choices.

It’s here! It’s here! The Met Ball red carpet is finally underway. So the fashion is great–though not exactly punk. According to Anna Wintour, though, her florals are punk, in a way: Andrew Bolton, the currator of the exhibit told her that pink was the real color of punk. Hence the color scheme. So there. Since her premature death exactly fifty years ago today, Marilyn Monroe has been like the Bob Dylan of Hollywood: Every new starlet possessing either the curves, candor, or white-blonde locks is considered a contender to fill the void her untimely exit left behind. Few women have come close to filling Marilyn’s impossibly high heels–which were Read more →
It’s the buzziest, most fashion-y red carpet of the year and it’s finally here! Welcome to the 2012 Met Ball red carpet! Finally, finally, Beyonce made it to the red carpet in the sheerest of Givenchy and the red carpet’s a wrap. So far we’re loving: Anna Wintour’s Prada-designed homage to Schiaparelli’s lobster dress; Prom Read more →
Only Michael Kors could pull a front row packed with of-the-moment starlets (Amber Heard, Paula Patton, Jessica Alba), of-the-moment stylists (Brad Goreski sitting a few seats down from Rachel Zoe), established A-listers (Smash stars Debra Messing and Angelica Houston), and newswomen (Kate Couric). With a crowd like that, it’s a given looks from Kors fall Read more →
There were some really memorable dresses on the red carpet at the SAG Awards last night, and we finally saw some risk-taking. Rose Byrne was amazing in her Elie Saab jumpsuit and Anna Wintour hair. And Emily Blunt made bright, almost neon green, look fresh and classy. Zoe Saldana arguably looked better than the model in her less-than-a-week-old Givenchy couture gown (and good choice to skip the nose ring). And it seems like Angelina Jolie is incapable of making bad red carpet choices. Our only question: Where was Rooney Mara last night? Does she not have a SAG card yet?

A red lip is one of the most classic and visually stunning things you can do to your face (well, makeup-wise), and it’s perfect for the holidays. But the perfect red is hard to get right–and apply. From the color getting all over everything (your teeth, your glass, whoever you’re kissing) to choosing the right red for your coloring, it’s just one big pain in the ass. After sticking firmly to neutrals and the occasional fuchsia for years, I’ve recently been experimenting with reds and decided that some professional help was required.
Enter Tim Quinn, who is Giorgio Armani Beauty’s celeb makeup guru. He trained with Pat McGrath and has worked with the likes of Gwen Stefani (arguably the patron saint of red lipstick) and Victoria Beckham. His handiwork and words of wisdom have been featured in countless glossies, and I was lucky to snag him for a quick tutorial. Read on for advice on how to apply red lipstick, how to get it to stay on, and how to choose a flattering shade, just in time for all those holiday parties.
This week our favorite looks were heavy on the glamor. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley made white lace discreetly sexy in Dolce & Gabbana, Amber Heard vamped it up in Vivienne Westwood, Jennifer Garner kept things sleek in YSL, Zooey Deschanel lived the fairytale in Oscar de la Renta, and Blake Lively channeled her boho side in Marchesa.
This week our favorites all went a little vampy. Kate Bosworth did Richard Nicoll‘s icy pink dress justice, Amber Heard sexed it up in Yigal Azrouel and Anna Paquin looked plain hot in Versus for the premier of True Blood’s fourth season. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley continued her press junket reign in Gucci, and Diane Kruger made us jealous in YSL.
