Kenneth Cole returns to the runway tonight after a seven year hiatus. But don’t expect a traditional runway show.

After all, this is the guy who, 30 years ago, first showed his line of shoes in a movie trailer on a city street during the FFANY (Fashion Footwear Association of New York) shoe show instead of going the conventional (and more expensive) route and renting a showroom space. (He had to register his company as Kenneth Cole Productions to get the permit).

For tonight’s show expect a social media onslaught.

It was a relevant and not pervy question considering Harvey Weinstein had auctioned off a massage by Heidi Klum as part of the event. As always, Lagerfeld had a strong, opinionated answer:

Gwynnie and Kimmy Go Twinsies: Now that Kim K is dating Kanye, and making her way towards the inner circle of one Gwyneth Paltrow, we couldn’t help but notice that the two have started to make the same sartorial choices. We’re sure Gwyneth is thrilled.

Andre Leon Talley and Ralph Rucci Kriticize Kim Kardashian: Speaking of Miss K, fashion heavyweight Andre Leon Talley and designer Ralph Rucci spoke at SCAD this past weekend, where they weighed in on dressing “celebrities” like Kim. It got a little harsh.

Farewell, Kristen Wiig!: We will definitely miss Wiig’s arsenal of hilarious characters next season on SNL, but fret not – SNL has always nailed some of the funniest fashion impersonations out there. Champagne Versace Pockets for all my beautiful bitches!

Karl Lagerfeld and Harvey Weinstein are collaborating on an exciting new film project starring, wait for it, YOU. If you make the highest bid, anyway.

The two powerhouses are putting their services on the block at the for-charity auction at amfAR’s upcoming Cinema Against AIDS gala, according to Page Six. The winning bidder will get to star in a short film produced by Weinstein and directed by Lagerfeld –hopefully the latter will also help out with the wardrobe.

She is organizing the first-ever fashion show at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS gala in Cannes next week on May 24. With a red carpet to rival that of the Met Gala, it makes sense that fashion will be in the spotlight at the event.
