10 Questions For Anna Dello Russo’s Hat Designer Alan Journo

It’s hard to say what Anna Dello Russo is better known for: What she wears on her body, or what she wears on her head.

Though she does it with more frequency, she’s not the only fashion editor wearing off-the-runway looks to events and runway shows. But she’s pretty much in a league of her own when it comes to her headgear. She even feels it’s her responsibility to keep head pieces alive, which is good for Alan Journo, the man who makes all of her hats, from those sparkly giant pieces of fruit (he commissioned them) to that Peruvian doll she wore on her head at the Prada men’s show a few weeks ago.

Journo was nice enough to let us pick his brain about his masterful ability to top fashion’s finest. Read on to learn about his long career, what it’s been like working with ADR, who really designed that famous cherry hat and more. He’s definitely a character, which must be why he and Anna get along so well!

Fashion Memes Promote Stylish Procrastination: We rounded up our ten favorite fashion-related memes for a good Friday LOL, and now we’re asking you to revisit them because, let’s face it, they’re still hilarious.

Menswear Trends For The Gals: A good suit or blazer is just as much a necessity for men as it is for women, but that’s not where the gender bending ends. We took a look at some of the top street style trends at menswear fashion week and made them work for the girls. We wouldn’t recommend that Nazi-inspired look that’s been trending, though…

The Psychology of Street Style: What Happens When No One Wants To Take Your Picture Anymore?

The frenzied dance between street style photographers and their bait is now a common sight at fashion shows and events, and it’s upped the wardrobe ante for everyone. But as with any phenomenon, there tends to be a saturation point, and it seems like street style may be reaching it (just look at the growing hordes waiting to be photographed outside the tents at fashion week.)
