Fashion News Roundup: Vuitton’s New Face, Queen Latifah Gets Fashionable and a Formichetti Pop-Up Shop

Sixteen-Year-Old Nayasha Matonhodze is the New Face of Louis Vuitton: The model is one of six up-and-comers shot by Steven Meisel in a Rolls Royce for the Autumn/Winter 2011 ad campaign, ironically featuring a Rolls Royce that Matonhodze is just barely old enough to drive. Do I predict the next Chanel Iman? {Telegraph}

Queen Latifah Does HSN: The actress and spokeswoman will partner with the Home Shopping Network to create a line of moderately-priced clothing and accessories called Queen, debuting in August. It’s friendly to all body types, but don’t you dare call it plus-sized; Latifah wants to “bury that word – this is for all sizes”. {WWD (subscription required)}

Anthropologie Joins Tumblr: The lifestyle brand will launch Etymologie today, a site dedicated to wordplay and creative self-expression. Anthropologie and Doyle & Doyle Launch a Vintage Jewelry Collection

Anthropologie and Doyle & Doyle Launch a Vintage Jewelry Collection

Everyone knows that Anthropologie loves vintage. Walking through their store is like walking through an antique shop. Except for the fact that nearly everything’s brand new.

But now Anthro has teamed up with popular Lower East Side antique jewelry boutique Doyle & Doyle to launch a collection of actual vintage baubles called For The Collector.

It’s a new section of Anthropologie’s website where shoppers can find antique estate and artisan jewelry. Hand-selected by Anthropologie and Doyle & Doyle’s buyers, each piece is unique–styles represented include Victorian, Edwardian, art deco and more.

The site will regularly feature 10 to 20 pieces of jewelry, and will be replenished with different pieces as the others are sold. Take a look at some of the gems that are currently up for sale.

Anna Sui and Anthropologie Celebrate The Designer’s 30 Anniversary With Three Resurrected Dresses

Nope, it’s not another diffusion line (although one of those does exist as well). Anna Sui is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with the launch of a first-ever retrospective book. In honor of such a milestone, Sui and Anthropologie, who have a longstanding relationship, got a little anthropological and selected three iconic Anna Sui dresses to resurrect and sell exclusively at Anthropologie stores. The dresses are each from a past collection–Fall 2005, Spring 2001 and Spring 2007 to be exact–and were key looks from their respective seasons.

Our Latest Obsession: Ikat Print

Though the tribal print trend seems to be heading out the door, there is something so cute and chic about the ikat print specifically that makes us want to wear it in as many ways as possible. It’s been on a few runways recently, including as Dries Van Noten, Gucci, Marc and Balenciaga. Our love for ikat blossomed even more yesterday when we checked out Cynthia Vincent’s upcoming Resort 2011 accessories collection, which was full of the colorful print. See above for our inspiration and click through for some more accessible examples that you can buy right now.
