Vanessa Seward on Her Fall 2013 A.P.C. Collection
A.P.C. was nice enough to let us pick Seward’s brain about her latest collection for the brand.

The great thing about dance shoes is that they look a little sexy, but they’re sturdy and practical. Those kinds of dance shoes are perfect for women like me who enjoy being able to walk in their heels—or maybe even run for a cab in them.
Fashion is not oblivious to their charms. Most recently, APC designer Jean Touitou, who has showed us many times over the years that he understands the value of a great ballerina pump/not looking like an idiot in uncomfortable heels, commissioned an Argentine company to make tango shoes for his fall collection.

One of our favorite French labels, A.P.C, headed up by the outspoken Jean Touitou, just teamed up with all-American label Nike on a line of pared-down unisex trainers. Two classic shapes were A.P.C.-ized for the collection: the Dunk and the Air Max, which will be offered in ecru, navy and brown and range in price Read more →

Ever wonder where Rick Owens shops for socks, or where the staff of Colette hides away to work out? Go Go Paris, a fashion insider’s guide to the City of Lights, wants to tell you the city’s best secrets.
Started by transnational hipster and journalist Kate van den Boogert, the series of pamphlets aims to shed light on another, more relevant side of the city to people who are sick of hearing about the Eiffel Tower and the Mona Lisa.
Having lived in Paris most of my life, I can honestly say I’ve seen as many tourists as I’ve witnessed bad guidebooks. (And the same applies to New York–how many Europeans come over and only know about Time Square?)
Well, you’ll be happy to hear that I’m impressed with Go Go. An example of the goodness: In the latest issue, Guillaume Henry, new artistic director of Carven, reveals that he likes to rummage through vintage books in a tiny bookstore on the rue de Rivoli, and his favorite hangout is a taxidermy haunt on the Left Bank.
For some reason whenever we think of chambray that Naughty By Nature song gets stuck in our head.
No matter.
The point is that chambray is big this summer and we’re happy about it. The chambray work shirt is classic 1930s Americana. It’s sexy and rugged and a staple for the season. And while there’s no messing with a basic like the two-pocket button down, we’re happy to see this lightweight cotton or linen fabric cropping up in different styles.
