Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2013: Ground Control to Major Minkoff
Much like last season’s surprise Lochte lockdown, the crowd at Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall 2013 show seemed just as enthralled by the celeb-filled front row as it was the clothes themselves.

Burberry is being sued by the estate of Humphrey Bogart after they used an iconic image of the actor wearing a trenchcoat from the film Casablanca. Adding insult to injury, Bogart’s son asserts the trench in the photo was probably from rival brand Aquascutum. {Telegraph} Kate Middleton went to a wedding this weekend, and in Read more →
Another Sunday, another red carpet event. Click through to see all the looks from tonight’s Screen Actor’s Guild awards. We’ll keep updating as pix come in. So far our faves are Emma Stone in McQueen, Zoe Saldana in just-off-the-runway Givenchy Couture, Daenerys Targaryen Emilia Clarke (wearing ? help us out!) in Chanel (thanks @VF Fashion), Michelle Williams in Valentino (flawless), and Rose Byrne in that Elie Saab jumpsuit. Who are your favorites from the night?
We’ll have our best dressed list up in the morning. Stay tuned.
Yesterday the Simpson sisters–Ashlee and Jessica–threw a little soiree to celebrate their first-ever design collab: A line of clothes for tween girls. The line is for ages 7-16, and this demographic made up most of the crowd at the party at Dylan’s Candy Bar.
I was very jealous of these girls for two reasons: First, they got to decorate and bedazzle jeans and shoes. Second, they got to eat all the candy and mini grilled cheese sandwiches they wanted, while I just stared longingly–wrong week to start a juice cleanse.
Ashlee was there with her adorable son, the curly-haired towhead Bronx; Jessica worked the crowd signing autographs and taking pictures with mini-fans while attentive babydaddy Eric Johnson stayed close by. We waited very patiently to grab a few words with the mom-to-be, who was wearing towering heels and a short leopard print dress.( We overheard her telling several people that flats hurt her feet and she’ll wear her heels as long as possible.) When we finally got to her, she dished to us about working with Ashlee, her new design projects, and finding out the sex of her baby:

LOS ANGELES–Last night, designer Charlotte Ronson hosted a dinner, sponsored by Belvedere Vodka, for her west coast posse (sis Samantha, mom Ann Dexter-Jones and stepdad Mick Jones, Nicky Hilton, Ashlee Simpson and husband Pete Wentz, Ione Skye and Mindy Kaling included) while her hometown of NYC was hit with a snowstorm. Guests gathered around communal tables at Hollywood hotspot Eveleigh (an eatery that shares its Aussie owners with NYC’s Kingswood) and munched on calamari, butter lettuce salad and braised beef among other dishes, while Charlotte made the rounds.
Despite being in the middle of designing both her namesake collection (Fall 2011) and diffusion line “I Heart Ronson” for JCPenney, the rock ‘n roll scion seemed visibly relaxed. The collaboration with JC Penney’s, she pointed out, is in fact the least of her worries. “It’s really fun because they know their customer so well. You get to really design into it. We do our few pieces, and it’s fun that the line is accessible and affordable. With them you just focus on the design. We do the full techpack but they do all of the production. So, I get to focus on the creative, which is so rare. It’s the perfect partnership.”
And how does it feel to have her name exposed to such a wide, mass market audience?
Natalie: Ew, I just read that Ashlee Simpson’s designing a line for Wet Seal. Britt: Of course she is. Natalie: I didn’t even know Wet Seal was still around. Apparently it’s a line of t-shirts with pictures “inspired by her sense of style, her personality and her album artwork.” Britt: Ew, I’m picturing Jessica strutting Read more →
We knew Ashlee Simpson made the rounds last Fashion Week, but we didn’t know she’s as fashionably educated as she (or her stylist) seems to be. In her newest video, Outta My Head, you can see the pop starlet shaking it in what looks like a giant steel birdcage, wearing one of our favorite Gareth Read more →
Bad news for emo haters: The prince of guyliner, Pete Wentz, has been spotted sporting Dior Homme in the window of his Angels + Kings bar on 11th St. Although some rock stars do start getting wasted at noon, that wasn’t the case here – Pete appears to be posing for a fashion shoot inside, Read more →
