See What Marc Jacobs, Alexa Chung, Hamish Bowles and More Fashion Folk Wore for Halloween

The past four days have been a non-stop party for a lot of fashion people here in New York. And those Halloween parties have been well-documented. The Tribeca Grand’s Overlook Hotel party, the Boom Boom Room’s fete and last night’s V party hosted by Terry Richardson drew the most fashion-heavy crowds and, as we all know, fashion people like to dress up. They also seem to like obscure references–many of their costumes were tough to identify, but still fun to look at. So, from Alexa Chung to Joan Smalls to Marc Jacobs, here are a bunch of fashion people in their Halloween best!

The Return of the Supermodel? For the First Time in Two Years Real Models Will Cover V Magazine, Styled by Carine Roitfeld

For the first time in two years, V magazine is featuring actual models instead of celebrities on its next edition, which hits newsstands on November 8. And to show that it is really, really standing by its decision to eschew celebs in favor of models, the mag shot not one, but four covers, featuring a Read more →

Exclusive: Dossier Issue 8 Featuring Bambi Northwood-Blyth

A new issue of Dossier, one of our favorite glossies (and How I’m Making It panelists), drops this week and from what we’ve seen, it will be a good one. Yoko Ono follows Andrej Pejic as the latest Dossier cover star. Issue 8 features contributions from her as well as Kiki Smith, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Michael Stipe, Stevie Nicks, George Saunders, Robert Longo, Tom Sachs, Cyprien Gallard, Aimee Mullins, Nate Lowman, Devendra Banhart, Sloane Crosley, Olympia Le-Tan and AF Vandevorst, to name a few.

The ladies at Dossier were nice enough to send us an exclusive preview featuring one of our favorite models, Australian beauty Bambi Northwood-Blyth, shot by Dan Martensen. She does that whole rough around the edges, but still insanely gorgeous thing in a way that we’ll never be able to replicate. Click through to check it out!

See Crystal Renn, Bambi Northwood-Blyth and More at the ACW Worldwide Casting for New York Fashion Week

Walking in the big shows of a season can jump start any model’s career. (See: Arizona Muse) So, naturally hundreds of girls and guys piled into Hudson’s Library in Midtown yesterday to try their hand (or face) at impressing Andrew Weir, legendary casting director and founder of ACW casting agency. Everyone from up and coming new girls to industry powerhouse Crystal Renn stopped by to “take a walk” and pose for Weir’s cameras.

The whole process took over eight hours, but operations inside Hudson’s Library functioned like a well-oiled machine, each model working their way through a series of obstacles before greeting the Mr. Weir and strutting his or her stuff. It was a rare opportunity to see the girls and guys we worship in magazines in their “natural habitat.”

So, click through to see what we saw!

Ksubi Does Eyeglasses

MELBOURNE–These days, eyeglasses are as fashionable as sunglasses–maybe even more so. But for some of us, perfect vision gets in the way. Yet Ksubi’s new optical range makes us (almost) want to wear a pair sans-prescription.

The seven-style-strong collection is the latest addition to the growing book of tricks from the Bondi duo, and helps to dust off all those pesky “are-they/aren’t-they out of business?” rumors.

A new sunnies collection will be released alongside the optical collection–both will be available in Australia this month at Myer and David Jones and online at Generalpants.com.au, with prices ranging from AUD $289 – $329 (USD $265 – $300). Both ranges offer toughened up yet quirky retro shapes and materials, and should come as a welcome addition to the usual bland optometrist fare.
