Michael Kors Owns the Internet, Deborah Needleman Apologizes for T‘s Lack of Diversity, and Models’ Salaries Exposed

Ladies love (cool) Michael Kors. The mega-designer and much-missed Project Runway judge beat out Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, and Tory Burch as the most sought-after American fashion brand on the Internet. {WWD}

How much cheddar do models actually make? And no–we aren’t talking Gisele. Hard facts this way… {Refinery29}

Ok, now we are talking Gisele: Watch the supermodel mama look gorgeous and glowy as ever in this teaser for her new Chanel beauty campaign. {Grazia}

T Magazine’s new editor Deborah Needleman says she’ll try to include more people of color in future issues (there was one in her first), but what the hey? Good journalism is more important than ethnicities anyway! {NY Times}

What We’re Thankful For in Fashion: Designers, Models and Bloggers Weigh In

It’s Thanksgiving! The one day a year the fashion world puts aside its fad diets and smizes in favor of that extra slice of pumpkin pie and some awkward yet so-necessary family photos. To keep things light on this day of heavy feasting, we asked some of our favorite people in the industry what fashion things (what else?) they’re thankful for.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I Took a Spin Class With the Victoria’s Secret Angels: Here’s Everything I Learned

I Took a Spin Class With the Victoria’s Secret Angels: Here’s Everything I Learned

Imagine taking spin class for the first time in your life. Now imagine the other girls riding stationary alongside you are the Victoria’s Secret Angels. Pretty intimidating, right? Well, that’s exactly what I did last night at SoulCycle in Manhattan’s Upper East Side for the 2nd Annual Supermodel Cycle ride–which donated 100% of its proceeds to the Pelotonia cancer charity bike ride in Columbus, Ohio. It was surreal, to say the least.

I kitted up in my fluoro-pink Victoria’s Secret workout gear to chat with Angels Lindsay Ellingson, Erin Heatherton, Behati Prinsloo, my ultimate lady-crush Doutzen Kroes, and brand new spokes-angel Arlenis Sosa before we (ok, I) got our bums absolutely kicked by the seriously intense spin class. So what did I learn from my supermodel workout with the Angels?

(We know, it’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.) Following Behati Prinsloo, Chanel Iman and Elsa Read more →

The Best Magazine Covers of 2011

Dont judge a book by its cover… Unless it’s a magazine, in which case, sometimes the cover is the deciding factor of whether or not to buy the mag altogether.

The best covers of 2011 returned to a new naturalism and a fun aesthetic, like the Lara Stone T cover we’re still drooling over, pictured at left. Sure, there’s still room for artifice in fashion (see: Stella Tennant on Vogue Italia), but 2011 was a year for reflecting on natural beauties, incredible models, and stellar photography.

After toiling over hundred of covers, we’re bringing you “The Best” according to us. Did we forget your favorite? Let us know in the comments.

Behati Prinsloo on Being a Teen Model: ‘There’s No One That Looks After Us’

On set at a Victoria’s Secret PINK shoot in Miami a few weeks ago, model Behati Prinsloo seemed perfectly happy and at ease in front of the camera and amongst the crew and hair and makeup team, who Prinsloo calls “my family.” But the 22-year-old model says working in the industry hasn’t always been easy.

“You’re sixteen and thrown into this world of adults, and you have to be an adult,” Behati, who was discovered at age 15, told us. “You have to deal with everything, you have to deal with your money and with rejection. You grow up really quick. It’s very stressful, it’s a lot of traveling, a lot of time away from family, a lot of dealing with stuff you shouldn’t be dealing with at that age.”

Victoria’s Secret’s Secrets: Tips and Tricks from the Folks Who Make the Angels Look Their Best

Okay, so that was sort of a rhetorical question. I mean who wouldn’t want the flawless skin, perfect bods and flowing, perfectly-undone hair we see on any given VS model–and it’s all totally natural, right?

Well, not exactly. Because while these ladies are certainly gorgeous, they’re not as perfect as you might think. They, too, have puffy eyes, dull skin, bad hair days and, yes, even blemishes, just like the rest of us. That’s where Colleen Creighton and Pasquale Ferrante–the beauty and hair geniuses behind many a Victoria’s Secret and Victoria’s Secret PINK look–come in.

We went behind the scenes at a Victoria’s Secret PINK shoot in Miami, courtesy of Alison Brod PR, to find out all the secrets that go into looking like a VS model straight from the source. Read on to find out how you can get the look, with tips from Creighton, Ferrante and some of the models themselves!

Before They Were Angels: A Look at the Victoria’s Secret Models When They Had Braces and Bowl Cuts

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show is airing tonight (on CBS, 10/9C), and it’s always a spectacle of physical perfection. We don’t know if this will make you feel any better, but we dug up some pictures of some of the well-known Angels, and while–yes, they were obviously adorable–they’ve also had their share of bad bowl haircuts, gangly limbs, and mom-imposed fashion. But they’ve all emerged from their cocoons to earn their Angel wings (um, sorry for mixing metaphors there) and we’re excited to see the whole extravaganza tonight.

Click through to see the Angels back when they were mere mortals.

Adriana Lima: OK, so she was pretty much always very attractive.
