Fashion News Roundup: Maggie Rizer Blogs About Her Dogs, Natalie Portman’s Fiance/Baby Daddy Modeled for Mango and Rihanna To Create A Line For Topshop?

Rihanna To Replace Kate Moss at Topshop?: Rihanna recently had lunch with Topshop’s Sir Philip Green in Barbados so now the Daily Mail is speculating that they might have been discussing a Topshop line for the singer. Um…seems like a bit of a stretch. {Daily Mail}

Maggie Rizer Blogs About Her Pups: Maggie Rizer has three golden retrievers–Henry, Albert and Beatrice–and she’s started blogging about them on her site, Bea Makes Three. Cute golden retrievers and models? This is a blog we can get behind. Especially if she brings a kitten into the mix. {Modelinia}

Benjamin Millepied Modeled for Mango: Before he became Natalie Portman’s fiance/baby daddy, the City ballet dancer and choreographer did some modeling. {The Cut}

Natalie Portman Is Pregnant: So What Should She Wear To the Oscars?

Natalie Portman Is Pregnant: So What Should She Wear To the Oscars?

Following Natalie Portman’s phenomenal Oscar-buzz-worthy performance in Black Swan comes this shocker: she is engaged to the film’s choreographer, Benjamin Millepied, and pregnant with his child, People is reporting. The beautiful couple (I mean, this will be the most gorgeous child ever, right?) started dating around a year ago during filming.

Portman is so tiny she won’t be showing much by Oscar time (she’ll probably be about five or six months along come February), but it certainly ups her Oscar buzz and becomes a factor in her Oscar dress decision. This past year has shown that pregnancy is fashionable: Adriana Lima confessed to us that she was approached to walk the runway pregnant, only to be turned down for the gig because she wasn’t pregnant enough. And Miranda Kerr’s naked pregnant belly was all over the pages of glossies (and she also walked pregnant for Balenciaga).

We’d be surprised if Portman didn’t wear Rodarte on Oscar night–they designed the ballet costumes for Black Swan and Portman is a fan of the Mulleavy sisters and has worn their creations to the Oscars before. So in light of Portman’s exciting news, we pulled a few dresses from Rodarte’s past collections that might work. Luckily, a lot of the dresses from Rodarte’s spring 2011 collection had ruffles and busyness right around the waist–perfect for distracting from a baby bump! But the swan gown from spring 2009 was too perfect not to include. And really, it’s the closest thing to what Rachel Zoe would deem an “Oscar gown” from their collections, even though that season has already seen a lot of red carpets.

What do you think Portman should wear to the Oscars?
