The Identity Of @CondeElevator Remains a Mystery: Lucky editor and Fashionista contributor John Jannuzzi was accused of being the Conde employee behind this week’s Twitter obsession, but let the records show, it’s simply not true! In other Conde Nast elevator news, WWD remembers Gawker’s Elevator Chronicles back in 2003, where employees blogged about their elevator encounters with Anna Wintour. {Lucky and WWD, Subscription Required}

Charlotte Ronson, the Vena Cava girls and more submitted photos. {Teen Vogue}

Ideeli Ups Fashion Profile By Sponsoring Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Hosting 8 Days Worth of New York Designer Deals

Ideeli launched back in 2007, and this is the second season the flash sales site is officially sponsoring Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Along with a slew of guest contributors adding fashion-centric editorial content to the e-commerce platform, Ideeli will also host a “Design Dreams” giveaway on February 12. The package includes everything an aspiring designer needs to sew his or her first piece: sewing machine, sketch pads, sewing class, and more.

But clearly it’s the deals we’re most excited about. In honor of the week, Ideeli is hosting eight sales featuring designers showing in the tents. (These aren’t looks straight off the runway, but classics from previous collections.) Here’s the schedule:

Anna Sui and Anthropologie Celebrate The Designer’s 30 Anniversary With Three Resurrected Dresses

Anna Sui and Anthropologie Celebrate The Designer’s 30 Anniversary With Three Resurrected Dresses

Nope, it’s not another diffusion line (although one of those does exist as well). Anna Sui is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with the launch of a first-ever retrospective book. In honor of such a milestone, Sui and Anthropologie, who have a longstanding relationship, got a little anthropological and selected three iconic Anna Sui dresses to resurrect and sell exclusively at Anthropologie stores. The dresses are each from a past collection–Fall 2005, Spring 2001 and Spring 2007 to be exact–and were key looks from their respective seasons.

Fashion News Roundup: Steve Madden Now Controls Betsey Johnson, Rag & Bone Gets Control of Their Graffiti Problem and Pilati Not Done At YSL

Madden’s Control: Steve Madden has increased his stake in Betsey Johnson from a $48.8 million loan to ownership of the brand’s intellectual property. Through licensing deals with Betsey Johnson LLC, Madden will get royalties from Johnson’s firm and its other licensees. {WWD, subscription required}

Calling All Aspiring Muralists: Rag & Bone hopes to solve their newest store’s unwanted graffiti dilemma by taking matters into their own hands. Sick of phrases like “You Would” and “F*** Africa” being tagged on the large white space underneath “Rag & Bone Bids Farewell to Cafe Colonial…,” they will hold a competition where artists can submit their work for consideration. The art will be voted on by Rag & Bone’s Facebook fans and the winner will be provided with all necessary painting materials and a $1000 store credit. Check out their site for more info. {Rag & Bone}

Major Shuffling in Paris?
The rumor mill is running wild following speculation that Stefano Pilati is done at YSL. Apparently, that is untrue, at least for the next 3 years, which is the length of the contract he just signed. There are also rumors that Karl Lagerfeld will retire from Chanel after his 30th anniversary in 2012 and be replaced by Alber Elbaz, whose position at Lanvin will then be filled by Oliver Theyskens. Lagerfeld retiring?? What? {Hint}

Austin Fashion Week Wrap-Up: Long Live The Boudoir Queen

Fashion News Roundup: Betsey Helps You Get Your Eyebrows In Line, D&G Has A Lover’s Spat With Selfridges, & Madonna Can’t Get A Break

The Big Tweeze: Tweezing: we do it to look good, but we rarely look good while doing it (just watch the faces you make in the mirror next time you start plucking). Until now, that is–Betsey Johnson, in yet another somewhat strange collaboration, will release her line of designer tweezers for Tweezerman starting September 1. {Bella Sugar}

Dolce Dispute: Dolce & Gabbana and Selfridges have come to an allegedly mutual agreement to stop their partnership, come next spring. While neither party has pointed fingers, we can’t help but look on this with the same skepticism we have when couples “mutually” split–c’mon, guys. One way or another, somebody’s getting dumped. {Vogue UK}

Causing A Commotion: A Los Angeles clothing company is suing Madonna in regards to her new clothing line for Macy’s, claiming that they have been using the name “Material Girl” for years. Wait, who’s ripping off whom? Didn’t Madonna invent that phrase? Yeesh. {TMZ}

Ten Questions for Project Runway
Entertainment

Ten Questions for Project Runway

1) How fantastically snarky is the editing this season? The St. Gretchen montage at the beginning of the show was classic.

2) Should we continue the Tim Gunn word-of-the-week? This week you must use “Schiaparelli-like” in a sentence. Alternatively, I’ll accept “woolly animal balls.”

3) Why didn’t Betsey Johnson do any cartwheels?

4) ”Mustache or no mustache?”–Mondo (This is a question I ask myself everyday.)

5) Was Michael’s comment: “Everyone knows you love a hot glue gun” to AJ a euphemism or not?

Fashion News Roundup: Fresh Finds At The Chelsea Garage, Victoria’s Secret Goes Trick-Or-Treating, and Tavi in the New Yorker

So Cute It’s Scary: Victoria’s Secret has announced their plans to launch a small line of Halloween costumes for the coming year. Let’s hope it’s a little more inventive than wearing just skivvies and cat ears…not that we do that or anything. {NYLON}

Fresh From The Garage:
Looking for some great one-of-a-kind finds? Take a cue from Yigal Azrouel and try shopping at the Chelsea Garage flea market as he did yesterday… and as he apparently does every week. Maybe we’ll start hanging around in hopes of running into him. {Tales Of Endearment}

Betsey-Chic: Betsey Johnson plans to launch a cosmetics line, and to re-launch a slight variation on her 1982 fragrance. We’re expecting some pretty loud looks. {Refinery 29}

Celebrating National Pink Day With Betsey Johnson

When we hear about a party hosted by Betsey Johnson, we put on our crinolines and hop in a cab. Lucky for us, June 23 is National Pink Day, meaning Betsey threw a wondrous pink bash in her Garment District showroom.

The already neon colored space, complete with artwork by Betsey herself, got a pink makeover for the special event. Pink crepe paper was draped overhead and all of Betsey’s best pink designs were hanging around the room. There was pink champagne, pink cupcakes and cookies, and pink roses everywhere.
