We spend a lot of time around the office discussing our favorite items, from shoes to bags to whatever look book happens to be around. Sometimes the best way to find a new product is to have a friend turn you on to it. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up all of our favorite beauty products, in no particular order.

Nars, MAC, and Clinique are popular in our office, and our beauty purchasing is very high/low, ranging from Tom Ford to Neutrogena from the drugstore. And like most women, we have some things to which we’re very loyal, and some that get transitioned in and out.

Click through to see our top picks, and tell us about your beloved products–we’re always looking for ideas.

Even though it’s only April–and currently 60 degrees and rainy here in NYC–it’s never too early to start thinking about beach beauty. One must be optimistic after such a craptastic winter.

So whether you’re heading somewhere tropical for spring break or just going to sit outside for brunch, you can start your sunny, warm weather preparation by picking up a tinted moisturizer with an SPF component. They pack a lot of punch for one product: moisture after a cold winter, a bit of color, and sun protection.

Click through to see some classics, as well as new options from Bobbi Brown and Philosophy.

I opened my big glossy flyer from Bloomie’s yesterday and almost started hyperventilating from sheer over-stimulation. From October 14 through the 24th they are hosting a massive beauty event and we’re all invited.

First of all, if you love free samples and tote bags, it is a goody bag paradise. Or rather, a “gift with purchase” paradise. Yeah, you have to buy. But isn’t it worth spending $100 to get a cheap pouch full of tiny samples? (Apparently I think so, because I have ten years’ worth of these cluttering up my bathroom vanity.)

Here are some of the best:

Space NK: It’s kind of major that Space NK is selling in Bloomindgale’s now. For years their hard-to-find brands were only available in the UK, until a flagship opened here in NYC. Let’s hope this Bloomie’s collaboration leads to more free-standing Space NK stores. But I digress. For spending $95, you’ll get a black cosmetics bag filled with off-the-beaten path samples from the likes of Wei Bauty, Eve Lom, and Lipstick Queen.

I’m not the type to shy away from a red lip. My favorite colors are Bobbi Brown Brick Red, Revlon Penelope’s Red and Mac Russian Red. However, I don’t wear a bold mouth daily–most of the time you’ll find me in old-fashioned lip balm or Stila lip glaze. Yet lately, I’ve been more and more [...]

I’ve always been a powder blush kind of girl – creams scare me. But come summer, I’m loathe to put more powder on my already sweaty face and since there’s been a recent spate of cream stick launches, which are so much more appealing than compact creams, I was willing to try again. I started [...]

I don’t know much about beauty. I’m a wash my face and go kind of girl, after three swipes of mascara at least, but I’ve always been slightly obsessed with liquid eyeliner. But despite all of the brands I’ve tried – MAC, Nars, Dior, you name it – I’ve never been able to perfectly apply [...]

Back when I was a beauty intern, I noticed something curious: the number one gifts to send to beauty editors are always the same – Picnic baskets, fluffy robes and flip-flops. So we knew it was only a matter of time before somebody came up with this newest designer (makeup, that is) collaboration. Trish McEvoy, [...]

It’s that time of year again- beauty companies are repackaging their shades into giftable palettes, big and gigantic, so they can charge you $65 for eight shades of makeup you would never use all at once anyway. In theory, makeup palettes are a great idea. They keep all your makeup in one place, and they [...]
