The Most Influential Personal Style Bloggers Right Now

Some say the age of the personal style blogger is over.

Today, the girl needs more than an outfit, a boyfriend, and a camera. Bloggers need to think about production quality, editorial strategy, and affiliate programs to really gain a foothold on the web. They are more like editors, creating publications worthy of a million-person audience than a few thousand super-fans.

Yet it still comes down that camera. Nine times out of 10, the bloggers who move merchandise, who get people talking, who attract repeat advertisers, love to strike a pose.

So we say the personal style blogger isn’t going anywhere—-in fact, she’s more powerful than ever.

Bryanboy, Rumi Neely and Elin Kling Are Now All On One Site and Possibly Setting Up Shop in NYC

Why travel from store to store when it’s quicker and easier to get your shopping done at the mall? This seems to be the philosophy behind superblog Nowmanifest.

The new site is a one-stop shop for the leading personal style blogs. Starting last month, the individual online locations of Bryanboy, Rumi Neely‘s Fashiontoast, Elin King‘s Style by Kling, and the digital counterpart of Industrie magazine, bacame part of the Nowmanifest network.

The homepage boasts instant updates from each of the bloggers–their posts, Twitter feed, and comments from their readers, so you never have to miss a dramatic photo of Rumi in a parking lot or a drunken tweet from Bryanboy.

Lanvin x H&M’s Runway Show Was Everything and More

It’s a rare day when fashion people actually look like they’re having fun–pure, unadulterated fun–at a runway show. But tonight at the Pierre Hotel, Alber Elbaz debuted his Lanvin x H&M collection. So things were different.

The Scene: A tiny ballroom at the Pierre Hotel on the Upper East Side, and a runway decorated with mounds of hydrangeas. (Inspired by Yves Saint Laurent, who liked to decorate his runways similarly.)

The Players: Friends Sofia Coppola and Anna Sui (who wore a mix of Lanvin and her own designs), Andie Macdowell (the only person who makes me wish my hair was curly again), Alex Wang, Sally Singer, Grace Coddington, Emma Roberts, Elettra Wiedemann, and a gaggle of bloggers, including Fashionista favorites Susie Bubble, Phil Oh, and Bryan Boy.

The Runway:Yes, the one-of-a-kind versions of the H&M collection were stunning. But really, it was all about the atmosphere. And Anna Dello Russo. The models pranced down the runway much like they used to before the ’90s, “making love with the camera,” if you will. But of course ADR stole the show, stomping down the catwalk with a grey poodle. We love Anna, but a poodle makes her irresistible.

Not only do they share their favorite fashions, trends, and Read more →

Bryanboy Will Star in an Ad Campaign

This morning on Twitter, Marc Jacobs muse Bryanboy revealed that he’s about to appear in an advertising campaign. Of course, we’re most curious about who he’s partnering with. Will it be a major fashion house? Doubtful. Probably something less linear, such as Hewlett Packard–which has collaborated with Vivienne Tam–or Polaroid, who currently works with Lady Read more →
