Vinyl, PVC, and latex clothing usually send one’s mind straight to the gutter. Or to a vision of a catsuit. It’s certainly not versatility, wearability, or comfort. I know it’s not just me.
However, fall/winter 2013 is putting a spin on these preconceptions, with plenty of bright, shiny, and kinky nuggets.
It may have been a sleepy President’s Day here in the good ole U.S. of A., but if you’re looking for a little visual wallop, Super Monday in the U.K. offered luxed-up sex at Burberry Prorsum, fifty shades of black at Erdem, a “this is your brain on Christopher Kane” performance for PPR, and the return to the catwalk of Tom Ford.
Couldn’t make it to London fashion week? NBD. It’s already in full swing and we’ve got you covered so you can watch (most of) it from the comfort of your couch. So what are you waiting for? Grab some ice cream, put on your best pair of Louboutins with your Target pajamas, and open up your lap top to sit front row to take in London’s finest on live stream. Bonus point for those who wake up early enough to catch all of them!
London Spring 2011 was hands down my favorite fashion week ever. Shocked, are you? Once you feel the energy, see the masterful technique, and find yourself wide-eyed by the innovation, you’ll understand where I’m coming from. Here are my ten favorites.
