Fashion News Roundup: Possible Photoshop Restrictions, Karlie Kloss’s Next Top Model and Giorgio Armani Hates On Prada

American Medical Association Finally Addresses Photoshop: The AMA wants to work out restrictions in the advertising industry to “discourage the altering of photographs in a manner that could promote unrealistic expectations of appropriate body image.” It’s a start–could we hope for magazine editorials and covers next? {Jezebel}

Karlie Kloss’ Model Competition: The model is teaming up with Mother Model Management, who discovered the 18-year-old in Wisconsin in 2005, to hold a nationwide search for the “next top model” that will end in a charity fashion show and event, hosted by Kloss. {Telegraph}

Giorgio Armani Is Not A Fan of Prada: In another case of designer-on-designer hate, Armani bashed Miuccia Prada on her Hong Kong stock debut, saying it was just a way to cover debts. He also said both she and fellow Italians Dolce and Gabbana often turns out “ugly” clothes. {WWD}

Viktor and Rolf Fall 2011: Red in the Face and Ready for Battle

Viktor and Rolf Fall 2011: Red in the Face and Ready for Battle

PARIS–The photo pit at l’Espace Ephemere in the Tuileries, impatient with the delay at Viktor and Rolf, began singing, shouting, whistling (there was some raising of middle fingers, too)–anything to spur the lights to dim and the show to start. As if to answer the photogs’ lewd taunts in kind, a draw bridge lowered, angry militaristic music began pumping through the tent, and red-faced models marched down the runway. It was a little scary.

I would not want to do battle against Viktor and Rolf’s army of lady warriors. Their armor–leather or stiff chiffon-plated dresses with shoulders that were exaggerated or cut out completely, high collars, and sharply pleated skirts–looked impenetrable and almost reptilian. Black stockings had blood red seams running up the back and the voice against the percussive soundtrack pleaded “hurt” over and over. I don’t know who will wear this stuff (maybe Daisy Lowe, La Roux or Leigh Lezark, all of whom sat front row??) but I do not want to mess with them.

Last Night’s Party: Alex Wang, Love, Liberty Bash With Beth Ditto

LONDON–And best bash of LFW (so far, and yes, slight intoxication may tint our estimation) goes to the Love magazine for Alexander Wang party at Liberty.

Daisy Lowe was there, dancing up a storm in a Mark Fast crop top and pencil skirt. When Beth Ditto forgot the lyrics during her a capella version of “I Will Always Love You,” she called on none other than Alexa Chung to complete the phrase.

Swoon.

Jimmy Choo For Dudes: All the men out there who have ever envied a woman’s shoe collection can now sport their own Jimmy Choo’s. Tamara Mellon has designed a men’s line that includes a range of high tops, biker boots, gentleman’s evening slippers, and even those croc Hunter wellies. The collection will be available to order online in July.

An Abrupt End to Tao Comme Des Garcons: Tao Kurihara’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection shown in Paris last October will unfortunately be her last. The designer will instead focus on the Tricot Comme Des Garcons label shown twice a year in Tokyo.
