Gisele is maybe replacing Kate Moss as the face of David Yurman because of that time that Kate Moss’s ads for Fred jewelry looked a lot like her David Yurman ads. {HuffPo} Ooh, new shoe shopping site alert. Fashionista’s FNO Guide #1: Where to Find the Celebrities
Fashion Is Fun

Fashionista’s FNO Guide #1: Where to Find the Celebrities

We can’t believe Fashion’s Night Out (and, thus, fashion week) is only a week away. As anyone who has ever been to a Fashion’s Night Out is probably aware, they pack enough events to fill an entire week into just a few hours, so pre-FNO planning is key. While Vogue‘s interactive map is quite handy, that is still a lot of stores to go through. So, we’re preparing a few of our own Fashion’s Night Out guides.

This one is for those of you who just want to see some famous people. We don’t blame you! Fashion’s Night Out offers rare opportunities to get up close and personal with real Hollywood stars. Maybe Tilda Swinton and Ne-Yo will become friends or Daniel Radcliffe will get wasted or Alexa Chung will debut a new haircut or Seth Meyers will screw up your drink or the Real Housewives of New York will be insane (that last one is the most likely)! Here’s our guide to where all your favorite celebs will be.

Behind the Scenes at David Yurman’s New York-Inspired Fall Ad Campaign With Alex White and Arizona Muse

If there is such a thing as fashion heaven, it was the set of David Yurman‘s fall ad campaign last week. Imagine budding models Arizona Muse and Joan Smalls, styled by Alex White, posing in front of legendary fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh‘s lens. In a word, epic.

On a sunny Friday morning, we were lucky enough to sneak onto the set at Fraunces Tavern in the Financial District of Manhattan with this all-star team. When we first arrived at the historic tavern, we expected to be intimidated and awestruck, but instead, we felt as if we had walked into a family get together. Both White and Lindbergh have worked with the Yurman clan, who were also on set, for many years.

But though the brand assembled all of their usual suspects, there was one something different about the campaign–New York.

Fashion News Roundup: George Clooney’s Girlfriend Strips Down, Anna Wintour Kicks it in Brooklyn and Did Chanel Make Condoms?

Fashion News Roundup: George Clooney’s Girlfriend Strips Down, Anna Wintour Kicks it in Brooklyn and Did Chanel Make Condoms?

Elisabetta Canalis for Cavalli: George Clooney’s girlfriend bares it all in a second round of ads for Roberto Cavalli, donning nothing but red lips and select pieces from the designer’s new underwear collection. Cavalli has called Canalis his “ideal of a woman.” Le sexy. {HuffPo}

Wrap it Up in Chanel: Designer bags are so last year. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, images of Chanel condoms have been making the rounds on the internets, with an photo of the designer condoms appearing branded with a “Keep it Classy” slogan below the interlocked C’s. Rumored at $279 for a 12-pack, getting some wouldn’t be cheap for the couples interested in these Chanel rubbers. However, upon further investigation, it seems these love gloves are (shockingly!) only a rumor…but we don’t think it’s such a horrible idea. {Refinery 29}

Anna From the Block: Vogue EIC Anna Wintour left the confines of Manhattan for her stepson Sam Shaffer’s surprise birthday bash at Frank’s Lounge in Fort Green, Brooklyn. But, true to to her ways, Wintour did not arrive solo–she came with her boyfriend Shelby Bryan, Vogue senior accessories editor Filipa Fino and stylist Christian Stroble. It’s never a party until the fashion arrives. {NYPost}

Smells Like Love:
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom think their love is unbreakable…or at least that what their new fragrance seems to suggest. Right in time for Valentine’s Day, the reality star and basketball stud launch a unisex eau de toilette spray that “fuses their personalities” and will be sold exclusively at Perfumania. And since Kim generally hogs most of the spotlight, it’s only fair that Khloe should finally have her own fragrance. {Racked}

Baubles with a Cause at David Yurman

With its incredibly well-curated merch (Balenciaga and Alaïa and Lanvin, oh my!) and cool West Side Highway venue, Jeffrey New York is on every fashion insider’s list of prime NYC shops. But founder Jeffrey Kalinsky values philanthropy far more highly than this season’s Céline totes, having launched David Yurman’s Madison Ave. townhouse hosted a shopping event along with Details to kick off this year’s Jeffrey Fashion Cares Gala, with the evening’s sales benefiting the noble cause. “It was really Details hat brought us together with JFC,” explained David Yurman’s Director of Global PR, Elizabeth Reid. “And philanthropy is much a part of the David Yurman DNA.” Added JFC co-chair Todd Sears, “It’s great when our fashion sponsors get excited about our cause. It’s not just that they write us a check—it’s that everyone truly wants to get involved through their donations of time and effort.”

Exclusive: Garance Dore’s Behind-the-Scenes Footage of David Yurman’s Fall 2010 Campaign

We all know that industry legend Peter Lindbergh is the “official” David Yurman photog, but this season, the fine jewelry firm decided to take its campaign a step further.

While Lindbergh was shooting Kate Moss in St. Barths, Garance Dore tagged along, creating a behind-the-scenes series of stills that will live on Yurman’s Facebook page.

We got our hands on one of Garance’s images, where you can see Moss posing for Lindbergh.

You can catch the rest of Garance’s behind-the-scenes photos of the Alex White-styled campaign on Facebook.

Explain

Married to the Model

Dear Natalia, You’re basically the prettiest person we’ve ever seen, ever, and we smile every time we see you in the David Yurman ads or posing for DVF, or as the lone model on the cover of Vogue. Having said that, we were all kind of freaked out by the faux-pastoral scene shot by Mario Read more →
