Fashion News Roundup: Take A Class on Beyoncé at Rutgers, French Elle Removes Offensive ‘Black Fashion’ Article, and Does LVMH Have a Heart?

Rutgers to Offer Course on Beyoncé: Now here’s a class we wouldn’t have regularly skipped when we were undergrads: a Rutger’s University professor is teaching a course on the significance of Beyoncé Knowles in regards to black feminism, studying her lyrics against the works of historical black female figures like Alice Walker and Sojourner Truth. Her husband, Jay-Z also has a course on him offered at Georgetown University. Next up: A seminar at Wesleyan examining how Blue Ivy Carter paved the way for infant musicians. {Sister 2 Sister}

Megan Fox Will Not Play Elizabeth Taylor: The actress took to Facebook to deny claims that she is in talks with Lifetime producers to play Elizabeth Taylor for their upcoming biopic, Liz and Dick. Looks like Lindsay Lohan might soon be getting some much-needed work after all! {ONTD}

ELLE France Removes Controversial Black Fashion Article: After facing much public scrutiny, ELLE France has removed their ‘Black Fashion Power’ article, which credited the Obamas for finally influencing black people to retire their Apple Bottom jeans, boots with the fur and “[return] to style with a sense of dignity.” ELLE‘s editor claims the article was “misinterpreted” (there seems to be a lot of that going around these days), but we’re pretty sure we got what author Nathalie Dolvio was trying to say the first time. {The Cut}

Fashion News Roundup: Lady Gaga Covers L’Uomo Vogue, Kate Middleton is Having an ’80s Themed Party, and Sienna Miller is Probably Pregnant

Lady Gaga Shows Her Boobs For L’Uomo Vogue: Lady Gaga channels her half-robot self (or is it from the same shoot?) from the “You and I” video in her cover story for the latest issue of L’Uomo Vogue. The editorial was styled by Nicola Formichetti and shot by Inez and Vinoodh. In it, Gaga does a lot of boob-grabbing and one of ‘em eventually pops out. {Nicolaformichetti.com}

Australian Designers Will Show Fall Collections in NYC: Australian fashion designers Christopher Esber, Fernando Frisoni, Kym Ellery, Magdalena Velevska, and Michael Lo Sordo will bring their fall collections to NYC later this month for the new Australian Five initiative, as part of G’Day USA (cute), which showcases Australian business in the US. Currently it’s the middle of summer Down Under – so are these designs for our current fall/winter? Or their upcoming season? It sure gives a new meaning to ‘timeless fashion’! {WWD}

Famous People with Lana Del Rey’s Lips: While the ‘Gangster Nancy Sinatra’ and new Next model denies she’s had any work done (right), that pucker has sure garnered the Internet’s attention, and perhaps even inspired some celeb copy-cats. George Clooney looks extra kissable, don’t you agree? {People with Lana Del Rey Lips}

Latest Crazy Beauty Thing: Makeup Depicting Scenes From Disney Movies

Continuing with our crazy beauty trends kick, here’s some insane eye and lip art from make-up artist Katie Alves. The girl can do with make-up what most people can barely do with paint, let alone on a tiny patch of fragile skin. The Disney themed eyelids are particularly amazing, although it’s tough to decide which is cooler–an Alice in Wonderland panorama, or leopard winged eyeliner? She’s even worked a little wordplay in there (think literal fish lips). Our minds are sufficiently blown. One possible problem: With this kind of art it might be difficult to display it and, you know, open your eyes at the same time. We’re disregarding that minor detail; can we commission her for next Halloween?

Check the slideshow of some of Alves most intricate work. Tell us, which is your favorite? And would you wear anything like this?

The Stuff We Actually Want From Disney’s TRON: Legacy Fashion Line

The Stuff We Actually Want From Disney’s TRON: Legacy Fashion Line

The highly-anticipated release of Disney’s TRON: Legacy is only a couple of months away and many companies are already trying to capitalize on the film’s inevitable success by producing lots of themed merchandise. Disney has been licensing their little hearts out, which has resulted in products ranging from action figures to iPod docks to replica motorcycle suits to sterling silver cufflinks shaped like cars.

Honestly, we don’t know much about TRON other than it has a cool trailer and was some kind of cult favorite in the ‘80s. Thus, we didn’t think of ourselves as people for whom Tron merchandise would be appealing, until Disney Consumer Products introduced us to the new TRON: Legacy couture line, “designed for the young female urbanite,” according to a press release. Even though this press release managed to describe us to a T, we were still a bit skeptical until a quick browse through the new products revealed some pretty awesome accessories. Hurley, Rotenier, Rosseau, TomTom and Hayden-Harnett are among the collaborators and Disney is even launching a TRON Pop Up Shop in L.A. this November.

Jonathan Saunders and Costello Tagliapietra Design Tees for Toy Story 3

Jonathan Saunders and Costello Tagliapietra Design Tees for Toy Story 3

If your first thought when you saw this headline was “huh?” don’t worry, it was our first reaction, too.

But it’s true: Disney has gone designer. Jonathan Saunders, Costello Tagliapietra, Victor Glemaud, Henry Holland, and Cassette Playa have each designed a tee based on a Toy Story 3 character in advance of the film’s release tomorrow.

It’s high brow fashion for a low brow flick. But if these (awesome) tees can help some fashion darlings reach Disney’s mass market, more power to them. The tops are $70-$108 at RevolveClothing.com.

So are you a Buzz, Rex, or Woody?
