January Jones Gets Naked for Versace

January Jones Gets Naked for Versace

Versace‘s spring/summer 2011 campaign starring January Jones is out, though the Mad Men star is wearing very little Versace in it.

Jones is naked save for a strategically placed bag and shoes in the first image of the campaign to be released. According to WWD, she doesn’t put on much more for the rest of the campaign, modeling only Versace accessories including shoes, bags, sunglasses and glasses.

Jones has been a fan of the brand for sometime, wearing Versace for big red carpet events, and this year she attended the label’s spring show (even if she did hold it up by almost an hour). Donatella Versace has reportedly described Jones as “deeply sensual” and told WWD that she is “always on the lookout for the next Versace blonde…and in January I feel I have found a perfect Versace woman for the 21st century.”

Janet Jackson On Why Her Family Wore Versace at Michael’s Funeral

Janet Jackson On Why Her Family Wore Versace at Michael’s Funeral

Last night, Glamour magazine held their 20th annual Women of the Year Awards. The amount of lady power that packed Carnegie Hall was staggering and inspiring. Honorees included Queen Rania of Jordan, Cher, Julia Roberts, Constance McMillen (who took a stand when she couldn’t take her girlfriend to prom) and Donatella Versace. Oprah, Kate Hudson, Katie Couric, Janet Jackson, Hilary Swank and Diane Sawyer were among the presenters. Tavi Gevinson was there too, recognized as one of the mag’s 20 young women who are already changing the world. Sequined and spectacled in clear frames, Tavi looked a bit sheepish when Chelsea Clinton described her as blogging her way to become one of the most well known fashion writers out there.

One of the most compelling moments of the evening (and there were many), came when Janet Jackson presented Donatella Versace with her award. Through tears (and in a black Atelier Versace gown), Janet explained that when her brother died she called Donatella because she knew she would understand. “We both lost brothers,” Janet said, “we share a very deep bond.” Having her family wear Versace to Michael’s funeral “meant we were dressed in love,” Janet said.

Donatella and Tavi Are Among Glamour’s Women of the Year Honorees

Today Glamour magazine announced the winners of its 20th annual Women of the Year awards. There are two honorees from the fashion industry and not a whole lot of surprises. The methodology behind Glamour‘s choices seems to involve a ratio of fame, successful projects and charitable undertakings.

Donatella Versace is among ten winners from the worlds of entertainment, business, sports, fashion and politics. Other winners include December cover girl Fergie, Cher, Julia Roberts and Queen Rania of Jordan. Glamour is also giving “special recognition” to 20 young women who are “already changing the world.” Everyone’s favorite 14-year-old blogger, Tavi Gevinson, is one of them.

Quote of the Day

“Carlos, we all have to do our bit, however small. So if you love fashion, be proud of the fact and show people how it improves your life and self-esteem. Maybe they will then understand what it can do. Otherwise, maybe I just need to come to Omaha…”–Donatella Versace answering Carlos from Omaha’s question about Read more →
