I’ve made no secret of the fact that one of my major life goals when I first moved to New York a few years back was to find and makeout with Gossip Girl lothario Ed Westwick. Unrealistic? Maybe. But I never knew how close I’d actually come (well… proximity-wise, anyway).
It’s official: The series finale of Gossip Girl is a mere eleven episodes away. While many a cynic may argue that the show actually ended sometime during the second season, for us die-hard Upper East Side wannabes, this news is harder hitting than a Nairtini to the head.
Of course, what we’ll miss most of all is the fashion. Gossip Girl has been on top of the fashion game since its first “XOXO” way back in early 2007, and as the series progressed, the characters’ signature styles arguably surpassed the plot development in terms of critical praise.
Between Blair’s preppy headbands, Chuck’s dandy suits, and Serena’s gravity-defying cleavage, the influence the kids of Constance have had on street style and fashion spreads alike is undeniable. So, as a tearful ode to our favorite CW soap, here’s a look back at some of the style stand-outs that have made the last five years of impossible-to-follow plot lines a little more bearable.
Pinch us, we must be dreaming: Vogue UK is reporting that Alexa Chung, its guest editor and our favorite Brooklynite-by-way-of-Britain, has joined the cast of Gossip Girl, which has recently begun filming its final season.

Last night we scampered around Manhattan, desperate for some good people watching and some great fashion. Fortunately, we were graced with both.
First, it was cocktails at Prada on Madison Ave., where those involved with charity New Yorkers for Children gathered to take in gorgeous re-issued vintage Prada dresses–we were smitten with a long, lingerie-inspired number–and fall 2010 runway looks re-imagined in rich burgundy, slate and black duchess satin. (The latter will be loaned by Prada to several women attending the gala.)
While we could have stayed at Prada all night–sipping cocktails mixed by The Carlyle Hotel’s famed bartender–Jason Wu was calling our names.
Express turns 30 years old this year, and they’ve assembled quite a party crew.
