Kate Middleton Bares Baby Bump in Erdem
It must be warm in Manchester today, because Kate Middleton stepped out for a public engagement without wearing a coat–the first time in a month we’ve seen her now-very-visible bump without a coat covering it.

It may have been a sleepy President’s Day here in the good ole U.S. of A., but if you’re looking for a little visual wallop, Super Monday in the U.K. offered luxed-up sex at Burberry Prorsum, fifty shades of black at Erdem, a “this is your brain on Christopher Kane” performance for PPR, and the return to the catwalk of Tom Ford.
Thanks to the premieres of Twilight and now On the Road (oh and that whole cheating scandal), it seems like we’ve been seeing more of Kristen Stewart than ever before. Quite literally: The starlet’s marathon publicity tour has turned into one big skin show.
Here’s her latest red carpet ensemble, a look from Erdem’s spring 2013 collection.
LONDON–London venues this season have either been full of gilt and chintz and huge chandeliers, or large spaces with industrial details. Erdem‘s show, held at a pristine white art gallery on a cool street in London, was a nice change. I got there way too early, and watched several amusing things before the show started: A young reporter with a cameraman in tow worked up her courage to speak to Anna Wintour, did a short interview, then realized the recorder hadn’t been on and had to go back and do it again. To her credit, Anna did the whole thing over again. Then she spent a good 20 minutes whispering to Franca Sozzani. Were they planning to go out for a Guinness after the show? Anyway.
The crisp white gallery space was the perfect backdrop for Erdem’s collection.
Jourdan Dunn and Saskia de Brauw Cover i-D‘s Winter Issue: Joining the ranks of Hailey Clausen and Anja Rubik, Miss Dunn and de Braw’s shots account for two of the six covers from the magazine’s “Winter Warm Up” issue. Jourdan’s makeup is giving us vitamins A-E right now! We love it! {Models}
Rihanna Wears a Onesie, Goes On Vacation: Take a look at some behind-the-scenes shots of Riri on her Loud tour. The best pics include her chillin’ in the studio in a onesie and a full face of makeup. There are also some lovely personal photos of her on vacation in Italy with her friends (she wears a lot of swimsuits, shops for pottery, and generally acts naughty). {Rihanna Facebook}
Nicole Richie Named “Influencer of the Year”: ‘Tis a rare thing to see a celebrity accessories line truly produce anything worthy of note, but Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960 is certainly an exception. The Accessories Council has honored her with the “Influencer of the Year” award, for consistently producing unique pieces we actually want to wear. {The Fashion Spot}
Never Let Me Go stars Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan looked lovely at the film’s European premiere. A platinum-haired Michele Williams wore a gorgeous Erdem number with leopard print pumps. Caroline Sieber looked chic in Mark Fast. And Selita Ebanks rocked an intense Ferragamo frock.
Doonan Leaves Observer: The creative director of Barney’s has written a column for the New York Observer for the past 10 years but he’s leaving print for the greener pastures of online at Slate. It’s a great coup for Slate. Can’t wait to read him over there. Hope he keeps writing gems like this. {Business Insider}
Anna Does Late Night: Anna Wintour and Marc Jacobs were on Jimmy Fallon last night to talk about Fashion’s Night Out. When the conversation steered away from FNO, Wintour promptly brought FNO back to the forefront. Other highlights? Wintour complaining about Gaga performing late at the last Met Gala because she was too busy “communing with god,” and Marc Jacobs flubbing his words a bit on why he’s in a sling in Vogue’s September issue promoting FNO: “But, unfortunately, or fortunately, one can’t say no to Anna.” So he got off his morphine drip and posed. {theCut}
Brits to Watch: The British Fashion Council (the UK’s version of the CFDAs) has released their list of nominees. Among them: Victoria Beckham and Burberry for designer brand, Lara Stone and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for models, and for the all important designer of the year award, it’s between Christopher Kane, Erdem and Phoebe Philo for Céline. {Daily Front Row}
Alexa Chung talks Madewell: Get the scoop on Alexa Chung’s collab with Madewell: she sketched, she’s planning to wear flats for fashion week, and her hair is “rubbish.” {Refinery 29}
Maid Marion: Vogue Paris all important September cover revealed! It’s Marion Cotillard looking très dramatique. {Vogue Paris’ Twitter}
Get to Know Erdem: SHOWStudio’s newest fashion interview features floralist Erdem Moralioglu. Be prepared for some extreme close-ups. {SHOWStudio}

What does a Swarovski sponsorship afford designers?
It’s easy to critique American Vogue, but there are things I really admire about the magazine. For instance, Meredith Melling Burke’s Index pages. They accomplish what so many market pages don’t–they tell a compelling story while also legitimately attempting to sell the reader on the items featured. In a recent issue–I think it was July–she offered up a pair of gorgeous red suede Sigerson Morrison kitten heels. They were immediately added to my list of fall Needs.
Problem is, they didn’t get produced.
The work of Hakaan Yildirim, Turkish design sensation, ANDAM winner and Carine protégé, is now available to purchase. But only at British department store Harvey Nichols, which also stocks fashion darlings Erdem, Peter Pilotto, and Christopher Kane.
The prices aren’t insane–they’re not cheap, either, but doable if you can generally afford a $2,000 dress. A peplum skirt rings up at £660, approximately $870, and a wool body con dress will set you back £1,130, or around $1,485.
This is a huge get for Harvey Nicks, and we bet they’ll be keeping Yildirim on come spring. But we also bet he’ll be showing up in several more retailers by 2011.
This week, the beautiful Julianne Moore wore a gorgeous Erdem gown while Camilla Belle kept it short and sweet in Dior. Kirsten Dunst took a casual stroll through SoHo in an awesome Miu Miu dress while another blond rocked the red carpet in blue Rodarte. Freida Pinto can’t not look gorgeous, but this Oscar de la Renta number certainly doesn’t hurt.
