It takes a lot of guts to try and impersonate the industry’s biggest power player — something our friend Bryanboy has in spades.
Lucky Magazine held the first day of its sixth Fashion and Beauty Blog Conference yesterday and we got a chance to chat with new EIC Eva Chen about her favorite blogs, her own social media strategy, Lucky’s new staffers (including the one she sort of stole from us–no hard feelings :)), and executing her vision for her very first Lucky FABB effort.
Lucky Magazine’s revamp under Eva Chen comes to completion with two new upper-level hires.
We’re not shy about our affection for new Lucky editor-in-chief Eva Chen, who’s so in-tune with the way we consume fashion in the digital age. So on the eve of her first Lucky FABB (the FABB stands for Fashion and Beauty Blog, FYI) conference–next week, October 24 and 25!–we had to catch up with the EIC to hear what she’s cooked up for her debut effort.
As usual, we’ve saved the best for last–even though Paris is at the end of the packed fashion month schedule, it never falls short on style. There’s just something about the City of Lights that inspires people to pull out their most amazing bags, shoes, and clothes.
Fashion people are pretty fond of hyperbole, so we tend to tune out any kind of freaking out over fashion week. It’s just clothes people! Except just a few hours ago around 50 editors and buyers got stuck in a freight elevator leaving Philosophy by Natalie Ratabesi. A source tells us that fire trucks were even called to the scene.
But far be it for something like a stuck freight elevator to stop an editor from getting to his or her next show.
It’s Day 6 of New York fashion week (can you believe it?), and the street style just keeps on coming! Today, our camera caught up with Lucky‘s new leading lady Eva Chen (looking perfect in Prada), as well as Teen Vogue‘s Elaine Welteroth–who deserves an award based on hair alone.

Remember how fun it was to pick out your outfit for the first day of school? New school year, new outfit, new you, right?
Click through to see what all your favorite fashion industry insiders–everyone from Eva Chen to Oscar PR Girl’s Erika Bearman to Rebecca Minkoff to DKNY PR Girl Aliza Licht–wore to go back to school–and shop the updated look for today.
Another one bites the dust: Condé Nast Traveler editor in chief Klara Glowczewska was fired last week in the second major Condé Nast masthead change in as many months. And the presence of Anna Wintour–who was named artistic director at Condé Nast earlier this year–at the meeting announcing Glowczewska’s departure reportedly left many staffers feeling the Vogue editor had a strong hand in the move.
