NBC’s Fashion Star Bombs On Twitter But Is a Success In Stores

While her music career never quite found its footing again, she quietly spawned a fashion empire–despite frequent skewerings in the media for questionable fashion choices (mom jeans!).

Reality TV seems to be her niche now, having just wrapped up Jessica Simpson’s the Price of Beauty, a direct reaction to the mom jean backlash. Then she showed up as a guest judge on the season finale of Project Runway, which proved to be a harbinger of things to come–Jessica Simpson wants to be taken seriously in fashion. Does her billion dollar clothing and accessories empire give her fashion cred finally?
