Stephanie Winston Wolkoff Launches New Agency to Bridge Gap Between Fashion and Entertainment

If anyone were to launch a definitive creative agency to foster and coordinate fashion industry partnerships, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff is probably one of the only people who could do it.

She used to be Vogue‘s director of special events, which means she basically organized the Met Ball every year, in addition to myriad other events, partnerships and initiatives that likely required the movement of mountains to make happen. And, as of 2010 she’s been the first ever fashion director at Lincoln Center, where she was responsible for consulting on all coordination between LC and the fashion industry, which sounds like a giant headache, but, as anyone who’s been to a show at the tents should know, she made it work.

That’s The Ticket: A Look at the Coolest New York Fashion Week Invites

If you’ve watched Bridezillas, you know it’s difficult to plan a wedding. Every detail is mulled over ad nauseam: the music, decor, seating arrangements, the dress, and, of course, the invitations.

Fashion Week is kind of the same way. Just as every bride wants her invitations to capture the essence of her wedding, designers are behooved to get a little creative with their invites. To show you how funky some brands get, we’ve compiled the most interesting invites we’ve received. From embossed flasks to digital picture frames, click through for the fashion show invitations that got us most excited.

Model Baseball Cards: Take a Look Through All the Fall/Winter 2012 Show Packages

Show Packages: think of them as baseball cards for the fashion set. For casting directors, they’re pertinent to their jobs in the days leading up to Fashion Week, but for the rest of us… well, they’re another excuse to ogle pretty faces, and take a look at who will be gracing the runways during the upcoming week. The biggest agencies are rolling out their strongest lineups this season…and while some present rather basic packages featuring simple photos of their models, there are a few that take creative license in the best way.

Good Girls vs. Bad Girls: The Black Backlash

FW09 was the season of the Bad Girl, epitomized by Balmain’s super-short mini dresses and edgy shoulders. Nowadays, the masses are sporting studs, metal hardware, chunky black boots, etc. It’s an overall hardcore look that’s available to purchase everywhere from Barneys to Forever 21. So naturally it’s time for a black backlash. Technically the backlash Read more →
