From Best Dressed to Best Ass, We Present Our Fashion Prom Met Ball Superlatives

Last night’s Costume Institute Gala may have been filled almost exclusively with famous rich people in formalwear, but we think they all brought something special to the table. While awards shows like the Oscars tend to elicit a stream of boring, predictable people and ensembles, the Met Ball brings out unexpected pairings, bold gowns and Read more →

The Fashion Pack (Hamish Bowles, Karlie Kloss, Giovanna Battaglia and More) Descends On St. Louis for a Hoedown to Celebrate Derek Blasberg’s Birthday

St. Louis, Missouri is known for a few things: that big arch, delicious barbecue, Nelly, and hosting the evil St.Louis Cardinals [Ed.Note: Go Cubs!] What it is not known for is international fashion editors, models and socialites prancing around in Prada. Yet St. Louis encountered all those things this past weekend, thanks to Lou native Derek Blasberg, who convinced his fashionable friends including Giovanna Battaglia, Elizabeth von Thurns und Taxis, Hamish Bowles, the Brant brothers, fellow Missourian Karlie Kloss, and Taylor Tomasi Hill to fête his birthday at the Blasberg Family Farm in Hillsboro, Missouri. We bet the Midwest is still reeling.

Fashion News Roundup: Jean Paul Gaultier Will Make More Cone Bras for Madonna, Miuccia Prada Really Loves Aprons, and Lauren Santo Domingo is Expecting Again

Jean Paul Gaultier Dressing Madonna on Tour: It’s finally confirmed that JPG will once again be dressing Madge for her upcoming world tour– in one or more costume, still unclear– and we can only pray for an insane, updated revival of that Blonde Ambition cone bra corset. {Grazia}

Will.i.am is Getting Sued for Clothing Deal: The Black Eyed Peas frontman is being sued $2mil by a company called I.Am.Clothing (chicken/egg sitch there?) for allegedly failing to fulfill his duties as its spokesperson. Where is the love?? {TMZ}

Kim Kardashian Covers a Beauty Book: Could hers be the face that sells a thousand books? Everyone’s someone’s favorite reality star has landed the extremely airbrushed of celeb makeup artist Scott Barnes’s new beauty book. Kim’s in good nude-lipped company with this one: Jennifer Lopez was a previous Barnes cover girl. {BellaSugar}

Miuccia Prada Just Loves Aprons: We love aprons because they (partially) shield our outfits from those inevitable kitchen calamities. Miuccia Prada loves aprons because they are “symbolic of women’s sufferance. It’s an emblem of women’s despair, their poverty, their passions.” Twinsies! {NY Mag via New York Times}

London Fashion Week Crib Sheet: The 8 Most Well-Reviewed Shows According to Everyone Who Matters

The darkly romantic looks on the first day of Milan fashion week may have been a palette cleanser from the rainbow-splashed prints on display over the weekend from all the young guns in London. New York Fashion Week Crib Sheet: The 10 Most Well-Reviewed Shows According to Everyone Who Matters

After 300-plus shows, it’s no wonder we’re still reeling. But while the calendar may have been jam-packed, there are only a few collections that really make headlines–which is why we’ve compiled the ultimate crib sheet of the season’s most important shows and what all the major critics had to say about them.

We’ve poured through every review (we mean that literally) for qualifying adjectives and other bon mots from The New York Times’ Cathy Horyn, Eric Wilson, and the International Herald Tribune‘s Suzy Menkes; Style.com’s Nicole Phelps and Meenal Mistry; Vogue.com’s Sarah Mower, Hamish Bowles, and Mark Holgate; Samantha Critchell for the Associated Press; Lynn Yaeger for New York, and a host of other friends and bloggers.

The result is a comprehensive guide to the season’s most well-reviewed shows–from Jason Wu to Marc Jacobs. Which designers came out on top? Flash back with us now. You don’t have to take our word for it.

Anna Wintour Will Be on TV this Sunday to Talk Vogue Covers

We haven’t rolled out of bed early to run to the TV on a Sunday morning since the days of weekend cartoon extravaganzas. But we might make an exception this weekend, because Anna Wintour and Hamish Bowles are going on CBS Sunday Morning to talk 120 years of Vogue, the new (costly) digital archives and Vogue covers. Definitely worth trying to stay hang-over free on Sunday morning, right?

WWD has a few tidbits from Anna’s interview with reporter Serena Altschul (yay MTV news alums!). Of her first-ever Vogue cover in 1988, which was an outtake from a non-cover shoot in which she featured a model wearing jeans:

The Top 10 Best Dressed at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Awards

The most stylish stars and fashion insiders showed up and showed out for last night’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards. While most attendees opted for looks from the honorees (there was lots Cushnie et Ochs, Suno, and Altuzarra on the step and repeat) Anna Wintour repeated a favorite Marni look and Hamish Bowles looked divinely dandy in…jeans.

Check out fashion’s finest.
