Kate Middleton was out and about again today, making this her fourth publicity jaunt this week.
Today’s outing took her to the set of Harry Potter at Warner Brothers studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire where she, along with Prince William and Harry, got a wand lesson in The Gryffindor Common Room, according to the Daily Mail.
For most of us, our earliest memories of Prom happened on the big screen. Movies like Pretty in Pink, Carrie and Never Been Kissed (depending on your age) all probably played at least a minor role in your expectations of the big night.
And while some of those expectations may have been a wee misguided (we’ve never heard of a high school simultaneously breaking out into perfectly choreographed dance routines, for instance…) there’s one area that the movies do offer some valid inspiration for: The wardrobes

Scott Sternberg has a gift for getting only the most awesome people to wear is clothes and his latest campaign (we’ll call it a campaign, but it’s really just a bunch of scanned polaroids on the internet) is no exception.
Each season, to make us want his clothes even more, he shoots polaroids of celebrities wearing them, usually around L.A. James Marsden, Dave Franco, Donald Glover, Jason Schwartzman and Andrew Garfield (swoon @ all of them) have all taken a turn and, most recently, Kirsten Dunst modeled Sternberg’s boy. and girl. spring collections. For fall 2011, he chose Harry Potter’s Rubert Grint and Tom Felton (a.k.a. Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy) as his stars.
He told Style.com,
I love those films and the characters so much. They’re full of imagination and endless ideas. With the last film coming out this summer, it felt like a cool opportunity to capture this moment in these two actors’ lives, and give them a chance to poke a little fun at the whole thing too.

Thank goodness the new Harry Potter movie is out soon. Not because I can’t wait to be at the theater on midnight the night it opens with my cape and quaffle (not that I’m judging–I have played quidditch before and capes are totally in), but because it means Emma Watson, in all her sartorial splendor, is tearing up the red carpet to promote it.
Watson and her new mod ‘do have designers clamoring to dress her. At the NYC premiere for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I last night Watson wore custom Calvin Klein Collection. She’s been sticking to black on the red carpet–in a one-shouldered velvet Vionnet and a lace mini by Rafael Lopez. At Heathrow airport, en route to the NYC premiere, Watson wore a Burberry Bespoke trench–she’s got one with black leather sleeves and one with studded sleeves–and she was the very first person to step out in one. “That’s London done, now off to New York! Wearing my favourite trench that Christopher Bailey @Burberry designed for me. Love it!” she tweeted.
And appearance after appearance, whether she’s in a stunning black dress on the red carpet, wrapped up in a Burberry Bespoke trench, or rushing to the Late Show in a baggy gray sweater over a plaid button down, she looks flawless. She might just pull this Alberta Ferretti designer collab off.

Justin Bieber Hearts Girls. And Charity: Apparently, Justin Bieber has a passion for shilling female beauty products. He already has a line of nail polish out, scented dog tags, and now he’s developing a women’s fragrance. He’s partnering with a company called Give Back Brands, which develops celebrity franchised products as a means of raising money for charity. He told WWD, “The idea that I can create an amazing fragrance that I love, and actually give back to a charity that matters to me at the same time, was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.” {WWD}
The world is abuzz with news of Emma Watson’s recent hair makeover. The twenty year old star cut off her long blond locks for a pixie cut that calls to mind Mia Farrow, Twiggy, and Natalie Portman. Opinions are mixed on Watson’s crop, but personally I love it.
Why is it such a big deal?
Well, Watson is also Hermione Granger (not to mention Burberry’s campaign star). She’s the highest paid actress of 2009, and there’s no denying that there are millions of teens (and even some adults, we’d bet) that idolize Watson and are likely to try out the pixie cut following Watson’s lead.
