Watch: Video Evidence of Choupette Lagerfeld Playing With an iPad (Plus Every Photo of Her So Far)

Choupette, Karl Lagerfeld’s 9 month old kitten, is definitely having her 15 minutes right now thanks to Lagerfeld’s glowing praise in a WWD interview yesterday and the subsequent creation of a Twitter account devoted to the “famous beauty.” We even got an exclusive interview with her yesterday. Sadly, though, photographs of the Siamese kitten are Read more →

In Honor of Earth Day: The Best Paper-Free Ways to Read Fashion Magazines

Earth Day is next Sunday and while fashion isn’t exactly the most environmentally responsible industry, one simple way to keep your fashion obsession eco-friendly is to cut out magazines. Don’t freak out–there’s no need to give them up entirely–just the physical paper versions. Nowadays, as just about everything shifts to online, most magazines offer some Read more →

Vogue and Conde Nast Launch Another Social Media Tool, but Do We Really Need It?

Vogue and Conde Nast Launch Another Social Media Tool, but Do We Really Need It?

It’s not exactly a secret that Conde Nast has been a little late to the whole Internet thing. Look no further than the fact that their most famous fashion title–Vogue, in case you weren’t sure–only got a dot com a few years ago. So it makes sense the famed publisher is trying to make up for lost time.

Today Conde Nast launched new social media tool “Social Sidekick.” The in-house developed tool works as an aggregator for most-shared content from W, Style.com, Glamour, Self, Teen Vogue and Lucky. It sounds sort of fancy but all it actually means is that on those sites there will be a window at the bottom of the page, which splashes out popular content from the aforementioned sister sites–basically, it’s an aggregator like any other aggregator on any other site. It’s not a bad idea–especially from the advertising perspective–but it’s certainly not groundbreaking, or as Business Insider says, “It’s nice to look at, but it won’t make a big difference to the bottom line.”

Now, for Just $500, You Can Cover Your iPads in Bernie Madoff’s Old Pants

Now, for Just $500, You Can Cover Your iPads in Bernie Madoff’s Old Pants

Have you ever thought, gee, I really wish I could carry a piece of Bernie Madoff around with me all the time? We know, us too. Seeing this vast and obvious hole in the market, tech entrepreneur John Vaccaro bought a stack of Ol Bernie’s clothes at a U.S. Marshals auction last year and is now selling them, redesigned as iPad covers, under the label Frederick James.

According to the brand’s website, “the collection is made from a limited number of personal clothing items belonging to the notorious felon, Bernie Madoff,” including designer duds like Christian Dior sweaters, Ralph Lauren trousers and two pairs of pants by…Banana Republic and J. Crew. Yep, the man who swindled $65 billion still picked up his pants at the mall. Other fun facts learned about the super-villian:

Glamour‘s Cute Jewelry Line for HSN Launches Today

Glamour‘s Cute Jewelry Line for HSN Launches Today

From iPad apps to television shows, magazines are more dedicated than ever to finding alternative revenue streams. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t.

This time around, we think it’ll work. Glamour, one of the most well-read magazines in the country, has teamed up with the Home Shopping Network to design a line of affordable jewelry (each piece rings in at under $100). The collection launched this morning at 2am EST on HSN, where Glamour.com‘s Tracey Lomrantz discussed the ins and outs of fall trends–military, lace, etc.–and how they applied to the magazine’s line of baubles. She’ll be shilling yet again at 1pm, 2pm, and 11pm EST time today.

It makes sense for Glamour to get into this particular game. Rachel Zoe, Janie Bryant, Lori Goldstein…the list of fashion insiders that have embraced television shopping is virtually endless. So Glamour‘s move is just right. Not only are the pieces accessible–much like the magazine–they’re also quite appealing. We saw Tracey donning one of the necklaces at an event last week and noticed it immediately.

Click through to see for yourself. And watch Tracey today on HSN–we’re rooting for her! And Glamour.
