Titanic Red Carpet Premiere Style, Then (1997) and Now
A lot’s changed since the 1997 premiere of Titanic: Kate Winslet won an Oscar (and went blonde), James Cameron made Avatar and Leonardo Dicaprio is no longer a baby-faced Jack Dawson (though he still has a thing for models).
Last night, a good part of the Titanic crew showed up to fete the world premiere of the film’s 3D release in London, and we couldn’t help but reminisce about the film’s first premiere and how much everyone had changed, especially Kate–something that Winslet herself agrees with. The actress told the Metro, “It is like being forced to go through a photo album of your former self for three and a half hours solidly.”
She added, “I haven’t seen the whole film in a very long time but it’s a whole different me and we look much younger and our acting was different, hopefully not as good as now.” Ditto for her personal style!
