Jason Wu on Who Will Wear His New Lower Priced Miss Wu Line: ‘She’s a Cat Person For Sure’

Last month Jason Wu announced he’d be debuting his first contemporary priced collection to be sold exclusively at Nordstrom when it launches in January, after which it will expand to other stores. While Wu is no stranger to designing at a lower price point, having done a highly successful one-off collab for Target, this is Read more →

Jason Wu Launches Cute, Younger Lower-Priced Line Miss Wu

Looks like that French new wave-inspired Target collab wasn’t the end of Jason Wu‘s foray into designing at a lower price point. To the delight of Wu fans with normal-person incomes, the designer’s just announced the launch of Miss Wu, which lies somewhere in between that collection and his main collection in price. Grading the Fall Ads, Part 2

When it comes to fall ad campaigns, we’ve already seen Louis Vuitton’s sober train passengers and Prada’s video game princesses, but are you ready for Givenchy’s ravers and Balenciaga’s overdressed beach-goers? Cartier Relaunches Its Juste Un Clou Collection with a Model-Filled Bash

In honor of the relaunch of its Juste Un Clou collection, and coinciding New York City in the ’70s exhibit, Cartier decided to throw a little celebration. And by little, we mean really, really big. In fact, the only thing little about the entire evening was the endless array of passed hors d’oeuvres which, lucky for us, were never quite out of arm’s reach. There were tiny wild boar thingies, little poached quail eggs, baby banana Nutella crepes, microscopic filet mignon, shrunken lobster pastries… must stop/mouth watering. Moving on…

Juste Un Clou (which literally translates to ‘Just a Nail’) is a collection of rings and bracelets that are exactly that- the finest of fine jewelry (many loaded with diamonds, of course) molded into the shape of gracefully bent hardware that range in price from $2,175 to a whopping $34,650.

Did Target Work Out Its Website Issues for the Jason Wu Collection? Not Really, According to Our Writer’s Firsthand Account

After the disaster that was Missoni for Target, one would assume that Target’s online team would have worked out all the kinks for the Jason Wu launch. Unfortunately for many who hoped to get their hands on a Jason Wu for Target piece, the experience was as frustrating as ever.

The first sign that perhaps things would not go well was the Target Style team’s response to the many inquiries about when exactly the collection would launch online:

Precisely. {E!}

Man Gets an Andrej Pejic Tattoo, the Permanent Kind: Someone will be walking around for the rest of his life with this tattoo of androgynous angel Andrej Pejic. The new definition of ‘timeless fashion’? {Refinery 29}

Hasbro Trying to Monopolize Clothing: The toy and board game manufacturer is teaming with tee company Junk Food and Jay-Z’s Rocawear for some brand rejuvenation in the form of fashion tees and sportswear. The collections will be available at Kitson and Macy’s, respectively, this spring. Unfortunately, Monopoly money will not be accepted as a payment form. {WWD}

Fashionista’s Week in Review: Terry Richardson’s Equinox Ads Cause Controversy, the First Look at Jason Wu for Target, and Our Anonymous Fashion Assistant Dishes the Dirt

Terry Richardson for Equinox Backlash: Another Terry Richardson scandal? No way. This week, Uncle Terry’s new campaign for Equinox proved to be too controversial for some of the gym’s members – but not in the way you might expect.

David Beckham Strips Down for H&M: This week gave us our first glimpse of Becks in his own name brand truly tighty-whiteys, looking absolutely drool worthy–if a tad bit stern.

Naked Guy Photo Bombs Ad for Kids’ Clothing: Beach day, blue sky, laughing children, a naked man…What’s wrong with this picture? That’s a question that probably should’ve been asked before this ad for children’s clothing was released and subsequently published all over the Internet. Oops!

The Best Easter Egg Inspired Makeup Colors

It’s Easter this weekend, and that means miracles (if you believe in that sort of thing), chocolate, and lots and lots of pastels. In an ode to spring and Easter, we present the season’s best Easter egg makeup. (If pastels make you queasy or want to hit someone, you may want to skip this one.) A word of caution? Last Night’s Other Parties: Creatures of Comfort and Style.com

We didn’t make it to the Dazed party at Don Hill’s last night (although we heard a bunch of people got arrested, so maybe that’s a good thing), but we did manage to stop by the Creatures of Comfort New York store launch on Mulberry Street and Style.com‘s 10th anniversary bash, which was taking place just a couple of blocks away.

Creatures of Comfort, a Los Angeles-based brick and mortar store, label, and online shopping destination for Rachel Comey and VPL-lovers across the country, is opening up shop in New York. Owner Jade Lai hosted a party in her expansive new space last night, and tons of our favorite designers were there: Tiffany Tuttle, Comey, Peter Jensen, Victoria Bartlett, Daphne Javitch, and plenty more. And of course Lai around, not only touting her new storefront, but also her INCREDIBLE in-house collection, which both Leah and I melted over. It’s gently priced–in the $150-$350 range–and everything is a mix and match of silk cropped blouses, tie-waist dresses, and loose blazers. Most was made from a delicate crepe, with some cotton mixed in. And the color palette? Seafoam, terra cotta, white, periwinkle…everything we want for spring.

After fawning over the clothes, we chatted with our Carroll Gardens contingency–Izzy from RackedNY, Adele from Epaulet, and Jen from Bird. South Brooklyn is the best.

But soon it was time to head to Lafayette for Style.com‘s 10th anniversary party.
