Fashion News Roundup: Franca Sozzani Talks Anorexia at Harvard, Nicky Minaj Raps About Anna Wintour and Kourtney Kardashian Defends Dying Her Hair

Former Urban Outfitters CEO Took a Pile of Cash When He Left: Glen Senk left Urban Outfitters without collecting his bonus, but he definitely didn’t walk away empty-handed. Along with his $942,000 salary, WWD reports that Senk received a “$5,000 bonus, $3,000 in other compensation and $1.6 million in option awards.” {WWD subscription required}

Franca Sozzani Talks Anorexia and Fashion at Harvard: The editrix talked to Harvard students about the unfortunate role fashion plays in promoting the ideal of extreme thinness, and how it contributes to the anorexia epidemic seen in young women (and men) in several first-world societies. She says, “Why the age of supermodels, who were beautiful and womanly, slowly started decreasing and we now have still undeveloped adolescents with no sign of curves? Why is this considered beautiful?” Franca failed, however, to comment on the fact that these same “undeveloped adolescents” are prominently featured in her magazine from month to month. {Vogue.it}

Fashion News Roundup: Take A Class on Beyoncé at Rutgers, French Elle Removes Offensive ‘Black Fashion’ Article, and Does LVMH Have a Heart?

Rutgers to Offer Course on Beyoncé: Now here’s a class we wouldn’t have regularly skipped when we were undergrads: a Rutger’s University professor is teaching a course on the significance of Beyoncé Knowles in regards to black feminism, studying her lyrics against the works of historical black female figures like Alice Walker and Sojourner Truth. Her husband, Jay-Z also has a course on him offered at Georgetown University. Next up: A seminar at Wesleyan examining how Blue Ivy Carter paved the way for infant musicians. {Sister 2 Sister}

Megan Fox Will Not Play Elizabeth Taylor: The actress took to Facebook to deny claims that she is in talks with Lifetime producers to play Elizabeth Taylor for their upcoming biopic, Liz and Dick. Looks like Lindsay Lohan might soon be getting some much-needed work after all! {ONTD}

ELLE France Removes Controversial Black Fashion Article: After facing much public scrutiny, ELLE France has removed their ‘Black Fashion Power’ article, which credited the Obamas for finally influencing black people to retire their Apple Bottom jeans, boots with the fur and “[return] to style with a sense of dignity.” ELLE‘s editor claims the article was “misinterpreted” (there seems to be a lot of that going around these days), but we’re pretty sure we got what author Nathalie Dolvio was trying to say the first time. {The Cut}

Fashion News Roundup: Fascinators and Mini Skirts Get Banned from Royal Ascot, J.Crew’s CEO Mickey Drexler Doesn’t Like Shopping Malls, and Taylor Swift’s Frenemy Speaks Now

Fascinators Banned from June’s Royal Ascot: The Royal Ascot in Britain is cracking down on fascinators, cleavage, and, well… crack. A new, more clearly stated dress code is now officially in place for the event in an effort to swing it from chavy to classy: Strapless tops and above-the-knee hems are banned. Fancy fascinators will only be allowed in the grandstand areas; whereas the royal enclosure (aka the big boy seats) will allow only hats and headpieces that cover at least 4″ of the head at the base. Look out for K-Mid sporting the latest fad, hat-hair. {Fashion Foie Gras}

Justin Bieber Goes Brunette: Speaking of Duchess Kate: Clearly the latest casualty of the “Kate Middleton Effect,” baby Biebs has hit the brunette bottle. Now he’ll definitely be taken more seriously as an artist. Definitely. {US Weekly}

Babyoncé Is Here! So What Should Baby Blue Ivy Wear?

By now, you’ve probably heard that everyone’s favorite couple, Beyonce and Jay-Z, welcomed baby girl Blue Ivy into the world this Saturday. And while theories abound over where the name Blue Ivy originates from (is Blue a reference to Jay-z’s hit album Blueprint? Is Ivy a riff on the couple’s favorite number four–IV in Roman numerals?) one thing is for sure: This baby is going to be one well-dressed tot.

We already know that Bey and Jay are sparing no expense when it comes to their offspring (the two reportedly spent $1.3 million to rent out the entire fourth floor of the NYC hospital where Beyonce gave birth), so we can only imagine what the pair will spend on little Blue’s wardrobe!

From a $3600 Hermes blanket to a silver Tiffany brush, read on to find out our blinged out designer picks for Blue Ivy.

P.S. Is it bad that we’re already jealous of a baby’s closet?
