The Jersey Shore‘s Pauly D Wants (Free) Help Launching His Clothing Line, Dirty Couture

In case you weren’t aware, DJ Pauly D, like several of his Jersey Shore castmates, has a clothing line. It’s called Dirty Couture (not to be confused with Filthy Couture, J Woww’s now-shuttered clothing line) and, judging by the website, is comprised mostly of very tight t-shirts, hoodies and accessories with phrases like “Keep it Dirty” and “I Heart Pauly D’s Dirty Beats” on them. Since Pauly and the rest of his castmates are busy filming their reality show and being on the cover of the Hollywood Reporter, Dirty Couture, like any emerging clothing brand, needs interns! This was posted on Craigslist yesterday under New Jersey jobs:

Want to help DJ Pauly D launch his clothing line, Dirty Couture? We are looking for guys and girls in the NYC/ NJ area… Must be enrolled in college for the Fall 2011 semester or just graduated from college and must have own transportation and be willing to travel… Please send resume and photo to us…

He may as well have just said “no grenades.”

Snooki Expands Her Clothing Empire With Pickle Print Flip-Flops

Snooki Expands Her Clothing Empire With Pickle Print Flip-Flops

If you thought Snooki was too busy causing a ruckus in Florence filming the latest season of Jersey Shore to focus on her branded empire, think again. She’s expanded her footwear line (which up until now consisted of leopard print slippers) to include flip-flops and wedges.

The line is set to launch for holiday 2011, Footwear News is reporting, and will retail for $15 to $50. A second collection is already in the works for spring 2012. Footwear News has a preview of some of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s new beach footwear designs, and they are Snooki to the core: one pair is pink with green pickles while the others are a bit fancier with a ruched thong and leopard print soles (think: fist pumping at the club, with the added benefit of a diminished risk of falling). We’re not exactly expecting high fashion from Polizzi. Her products are true to who she is and affordable. And that’s nice.

On another note, Lauren, have you seen the cast in Florence? Are they at Pitti chilling with the Mulleavy’s?

Fashion News Roundup: Pre-order Chloe Sevigny X Opening Ceremony, Snooki’s Slippers and Nicole Richie Wed in Marchesa

Fashion News Roundup: Pre-order Chloe Sevigny X Opening Ceremony, Snooki’s Slippers and Nicole Richie Wed in Marchesa

Get it While You Can: Chloe Sevigny’s latest collection for Opening Ceremony is available to pre-order until December 20 on Opening Ceremony’s website. There are handbags, sunglasses, t-shirts, adorable dresses and many to die for shoes. One item we don’t quite understand, however, is a lookbook on sale for $65. If you want something from the collection, which you do, pre-ordering is probably your best bet for actually getting it, as these collections tend to sell out pretty quickly. {Opening Ceremony}

Jen Brill’s Makeup Routine: Photo/Styling agent Jen Brill is the latest to be featured on Emily Weiss’ beauty blog Into the Gloss. She divulges her simple yet well thought-out beauty routines in its entirety. We’ve definitely learned a few tricks. {Into the Gloss}

Hanneli’s Winter Picks: Street Style Blogger Hanneli Mustaparta has an amazing eye for others with great style as well as her own. Check out what she has her eye on this winter. Coming from someone who pretty much always looks perfect, we’d definitely take note. {The Moment}

Snooki’s Shilling Slippers: Remember those huge, dirty-looking slippers Snooki wore both in and outside the house throughout Jersey Shore? It was only a matter of time before Snooki endorsed her own line of slippers. They’re bizarrely huge, come in leopard and pink and have shoelaces for some reason. To be honest though, they do look kind of comfy. {Blackbook}

Style.com Casts Its Reality Series With Help From the Jersey Shore

We told you about Style.com’s new reality series last month; now we know more.

The “docu-series” is called North of Madison. Agency Doron Ofir, which cast MTV’s Jersey Shore and Paris Hilton: My New BFF, is looking for “Those between the ages of 21 and 28 who express their love and hate for current trends via any legitimate outlet.” Meaning you’ve got to be a working fashion journalist, blogger, etc. to be considered. Casting will take place the first week of November.

We have a feeling that this show is either going to be amazing or really, really boring. Since Ofir and co. found Snooki, we’re going to bet on the former.

Fashion News Roundup: W‘s October Cover, Tim and Anna’s Beef and the Fashion Ventures of Two Reality Stars

The Newest New W: Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling cover October W, the mag’s second issue since Stefano Tonchi took the helm and it became the “new” W. We love Michelle and Ryan, but we’re kind of getting a flashback to Lars and the Real Girl, as Michelle Williams looks very much like a doll that Ryan is holding in this picture. {Fashion Copious}

Tim vs. Anna: The Saga continues. As you might have heard, Tim Gunn did not paint the most flattering portrait of Anna Wintour in his book Gunn’s Golden Rules, in which he tells the story of Anna being carried down several flights of stairs by bodyguards after a show. Anna, not surprisingly, was not happy with Tim’s comments and now I think Tim and Anna are in the fashion version of a rap war. Tim says, “More than 30 people must have seen it. I’m just the only one brave enough to tell the truth. Lord knows hell would freeze over if I came face to face with her here, but I probably wouldn’t be able to see past her handlers.” {NY Post}

The Situation’s unfortunate fashion situation:
Mike Sorrentino is getting serious about starting his own clothing line, starting with trademarking a name. Sadly, Mike lost the bid to trademark “The Situtation” and to make matters worse, some other guy trademarked Sorrentino just last week. How will he make a name for himself in the fashion world now? {Gawker}

Fashion News Roundup: Crystal Renn’s Dance Moves, Underwater Fashion Show, and the New J. Crew

Fashion News Roundup: Crystal Renn’s Dance Moves, Underwater Fashion Show, and the New J. Crew

Renn Again: Model of the moment Crystal Renn continues to buzz about the internet. This time, she is looking light as a feather dancing around in nothing but a VPL bodysuit. The dance routine was for a photo shoot by Skye Parrott for The Block, a new Canadian fashion magazine. Crystal actually has some pretty impressive moves. Perhaps dancing is part of her new exercise routine? {Ford Models Blog}

Unlikely Pair: Jake Davis of Jake Davis Test Shots recently designed two pairs of men’s shoes for Sebago’s Nexus Project. While there is nothing particularly feminine about the footwear, Jake chose a female subject to advertise them. Gorgeous model Rachel Ballinger (who you might recognize from, um, the Urban Outfitters website) moves gracefully atop a New York City rooftop in Jake’s designs. We’ve never seen someone pull off an American flag and boat shoes so well. {Jake Davis Screen Tests}

Under the Sea:
In Seoul this weekend, models performed some version of synchronized swimming in an underwater fashion show to showcase the designs of Park Sul-Nyeo. The event marked the launch of a new Korean department store. We’re awe-struck not only by the fact that these models were evidently able to hold their breath for minutes at a time, but also by how pretty these dresses looked under water. {Daily Mail}

The Hair Situation: You might remember that on a recent episode of Jersey Shore, Vinny finally found someone who could cut (or tape-up, whatever that means) his thick, Italian hair. It turns out Vinny, Pauly D, Ronnie and the Situation are not the only notables who’ve had the pleasure of visiting Miami’s Platinum Boyz Barbers. {The Moment}

Fashion News Roundup: The Situation’s Fashion Debut, Hermes Goes Hipster, Plus D&G’s Film Trailer

Fashion News Roundup: The Situation’s Fashion Debut, Hermes Goes Hipster, Plus D&G’s Film Trailer

A Fashion Situation: Recently debuted on The Situation’s Facebook page, a first look from Mike Sorrentino’s collab with brilliantly-named casualwear brand DILLIGAF, which, naturally, stands for “Do I Look Like I Give a Fuck?” A new member of this gang of nickname geniuses, The Unit, models the Ed Hardy-esque tank. {Racked}

Harley does Hermes: Trying to figure out a new way to wear your Hermes scarf? Well, Hermes just launched J’aime Mon Carre (I love my scarf), basically a street style blog, but with a bunch of cool girls you’ve probably seen before (Harley Viera Newton, etc.) all wearing limited edition Hermes scarves in different ways. Unfortunately, the scarves will only be available at Colette in Paris come September. {Nylon}

Will shape-ups really shape you up? According to the American Council on Exercise, “simply no evidence to support the claims that these shoes will help wearers exercise more intensely, burn more calories or improve muscle strength and tone.” Skechers disagrees. Have you tried them? Do they work? {Huffington Post}

Should We Make Over Snooki?
Entertainment

Should We Make Over Snooki?

Personally, I love Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi. I’m kind of over Jersey Shore, the series, but I love the characters. I love that they exist. I love that they’re too tan and greasy with the worst hair ever.

Style transformations like Nicole Richie‘s happen once in a blue moon, so why not embrace what Snooki has offered us–a nearly uncensored look at how she lives her life. Because Snooki isn’t anything if she’s not genuine.

Not everyone agrees with me. Some, who were perplexed by the vision of Snooki’s butt crack last week at the scene of her arrest, feel differently.

What do you think? Do you want to see Snooki transformed into something more sublime? Or do you prefer the chaos?

Fashion News Roundup: American Apparel Still Screwed, Terry Richardson Hearts Snooki and Vaness Traina for Proenza

American Apparel auditor can’t take it anymore: American Apparel’s downward financial spiral doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Deloitte, American Apparel’s accounting firm, just resigned due to unreliable financial statements. The resignation sent AA’s stock plummeting 14%. {Going Concern}

Terry GTL’s:
The Jersey Shore cast was all over Terry Richardson’s blog yesterday. It looks like he followed the cast around Seaside for some shot-taking and fist-pumping. He even put together a video that includes Snookie spraying hairspray in her own face, repeatedly. {Terry Richardson’s Diary}

The Other September Issue: Rumors of a camera crew at W‘s offices got people wondering if W would be following in fellow Conde Naste mag Vogue‘s footsteps with another September issue documentary. W confirmed they are shooting a documentary about their September issue, the first under new EIC Stefano Tonchi, which will air only online as part of an “online film festival.” At least we won’t have to pay $12.50 to see it. {The Cut}
