UFOs Inspired Delfina Delettrez’s Latest Collection

Delfina Delettrez sometimes seems like she’s from another planet.

The 25-year-old jewelry designer and fourth generation Fendi is gorgeous, has this preternatural calm about her (the excellent posture helps), dresses ever so elegantly, and yet churns out these freaky, macabre, wildly imaginative creations season after season. But for fall 2013, Delettrez truly was looking to the otherworldly for inspiration. We’re talking X-Files stuff here: UFOs, aliens, mysterious lights in the sky.

So does Delettrez believe? We asked.

Delicate Fashion-Inspired Charms to String On

We totally understand why that little leprechaun was so protective of his lucky charms: When it comes to jewelry, it doesn’t get any cuter than miniaturized versions of our absolute favorite things.

So in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day, we’ve pulled together a slew of the most adorable, tiny, fashion-inspired charms–small enough to fit on your wrist (or neck, if you’re trying to get all nouveau on us here!), and special enough to pass down to your granddaughter.

4 Really Cool Scandinavian Jewelry Labels You Should Know About

International jewelry labels (and most jewelry labels, really) can sometimes be under-appreciated in the fashion world. Compared to clothing labels or big multi-category brands, really talented jewelry designers can be a little bit tougher to find out about unless you’re obsessed with jewelry and are really cool and good at finding new things, I guess.

Anyway, yesterday, I stopped by a showroom that had a ton of amazing (like I wanted everything) jewelry from Scandinavian designers that I didn’t know much about. Now I do and I thought I you should too! So, click through to learn about Bjorg, Maria Black, Sabrina Dehoff and Uncommon Matters and see some of their lovely work and where you can find it.

How I’m Making It: Lori Leven of Love, Adorned

Walking into Love, Adorned, a jewelry and lifestyle shop on Elizabeth Street in New York, is like walking into a wonderland of incredible, unique, and truly lovely items. From selling one-of-a-kind antique jewelry to luxurious candles to handwoven rugs, Love, Adorned almost defies categorization. Just about every New Yorker I know is head over tails for this shop, including myself, so I had to meet the woman behind the magic, Lori Leven.

What I found out was that Lori is just as wonderful and insightful as her store. Immediately I got feeling that Love, Adorned isn’t just her job, it’s her love project. You’ll definitely want to hear how Lori Leven is “making it.

Would You Wear

Would You Wear Kitsch?

Little girls have been wearing charm bracelets for years, but we’ve seen a burst in kitsch jewelry recently. Food, animals, kitchen appliances–just about anything and everything has been put onto a necklace or earring. It’s a fine line though, between cute kitsch and tacky kitsch, and sometimes we aren’t even sure. For instance, Fred Flare’s Read more →
