How Do You Take Your Tea? A Roundup Of Tea-Infused Fragrances

Tea isn’t a new note in perfume, but it definitely seems to be picking up steam as a fragrance trend. (Bad tea pun. Sorry.) As tea shops become more and more ubiquitous and tea is increasingly touted for its healthy effects, it makes sense that it’s popping up in non-potable form.

Jean-Claude Ellena is generally credited for starting the tea-as-fragrance craze. He created a scent made of jasmine and violet leaf tea and used it to perfume Bulgari jewelry stores. This morphed into several successful tea scents for Bulgari.

Tea is a subtle fragrance that blends well with more traditional notes to produce fragrances that smell really light and modern.
