@NoBtotheS Holiday Wish List

@NoBtotheS Holiday Wish List

Welcome back to @NoBtotheS‘s series on the suicide inducing habits of people in the fashion industry. (Editor’s note: If you’re not familiar with NoBtotheS, or No Bullshit, s/he is an anonymous fashion publicist working in New York City who’s famed for a hilarious Twitter account.)

I made my list, I checked it twice, I already know I’m naughty not nice…welcome to my holiday wish list.

I want…

1. To be shot by the legendary Bill Cunningham and featured in NY Times Style section. Mr. Cunningham, I’ve restrained myself in the past from diving in front of your lens. You’re so small and elderly I would hate to accidentally break your hip. This would only be doing both of us a favor!

2. For Joanna Hillman to attend a press preview.
Period.

3. To share a leisurely lunch with two of my favorite foreign editors: Franca Sozzani and Carine Roitfeld. Oh, the stories they would tell! We would dish and drink and part as sisters.

Fashion News Roundup: Hamish the Curator, Zac Posen to Intern for Martha Stewart and How to Dress Based on Your Sign

Hamish Has a Chanel Dress and Purple Hands: Hamish Bowles, Vogue‘s European Editor at Large and, most recently, curator of the Balenciaga: Spanish Master exhibition, has his own collection of couture as well. His favorites include some of Galliano’s first collection and a 1926 beaded Chanel dress. Now if someone could just tell us why his hands are purple… {NOWNESS}

How to Make It as a Blogger: Want to be the next big style blogger? We think some level of innate style sense is necessary, but if you’re looking for the recipe for style blogging success, now there’s a hilarious flow chart. There are important details, like bangs and nail art and you must choose a “signature pose.” Might we suggest the “stylish squatter?” {Refinery29}

Polaroids Are Still Cool: Band of Outsiders designer Scott Sternberg talks about why he shoots his lookbook with a Polaroid and uses his friends instead of models. It’s not just because of his Godard obsession or that it saves money. It’s because that’s what he sees inside his head. Also, check out some outtakes from shoots with Marisa Tomei, Jason Schwartzman, Michelle Williams and Kirsten Dunst. {The Moment}

Zac Posen Hearts Martha Stewart: Apparently, Zac Posen has a spare six weeks to spend interning for Martha Stewart. He bid on and won the internship last week at the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai gala. Perhaps he’s planning on releasing a line of housewares? We’re confused. {Racked NY}

Gossip Girl’s Fashion Industry Guest Stars Keep on Coming

We just received word that Cynthia Rowley, Joe Zee and Rachel Zoe will all be making appearances on next week’s Gossip Girl. The episode will center around Blair’s birthday party, which of course will include a performance by Robyn (last year was Lady Gaga). It seems like in almost every episode this season, a Van der Woodsen has air-kissed someone from the fashion industry or New York society. Last night’s episode was no exception. It culminated in an Observer party at the Boom Boom Room with Tim Gunn, Isaac Mizrahi, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner in attendance.

Fashion’s Most Influential Twitterers

Fashion’s Most Influential Twitterers

As fashion month fast approaches, it’s a good time to get your Twitter organized accordingly. Over fashion month, Twitter has increasingly become the best place to get fashion news and updates about shows in real time. And more generally, it’s one of our preferred methods for checking in on our favorite fashion folk and getting news fast.

So we decided to put together a top ten list of the fashion folk who have Twitter down pat. We like making lists. This list is, of course, subjective, but we looked at the number of followers, the frequency with which they tweet, and how much their feeds reflect their personality.

Joe Zee is Covering the Emmy’s for Extra

Joe Zee is Covering the Emmy’s for Extra

Joe Zee’s star just keeps rising. After a successful run on The City, Elle‘s creative director inked a deal to host his own show on the Sundance Channel.

Now, he’s taking a stab at red carpet reporting. Zee will serve as Extra’s “special fashion correspondent”–his segment will air Monday after the Emmy’s.

And while we’re psyched for Joe–we might even DVR Extra!–there was some much more interesting news buried at the bottom of the tip sheet.

Stylista–that god awful show starring Ann Slowey–is back this October on the CW. Joe will “make his debut” as a judge, which to us means that the formatting of the show will be slightly different. Or that Extra’s PR team has made a huge error. It’s a bit hard to believe that the CW would give Stylista another try. Then again, Joe is bigger than ever before, so maybe Tyra and co. think it’s worth the risk. We just heard word that it is indeed an error.

Joe Zee Gets His Own TV Show

With the fate of The City in question (the NY Times recently reported that MTV was still pondering whether or not to renew) Elle‘s Joe Zee is moving on. WWD says that the creative director will star in an eight-episode series on the Sundance Channel called All On the Line, in which he will help struggling designers revamp their collections.

We love Joe, and we love what Sundance has done with its Full Frontal Fashion series, so this all sounds fantastic to us. Especially if he ends up running around New York City in a furry outfit.

Fashion News Roundup: Lara Stone Suing French Playboy, Zee Sweats in Chanel and J. Crew Sells Friendship Bracelets
Fashion News Roundup

Fashion News Roundup: Lara Stone Suing French Playboy, Zee Sweats in Chanel and J. Crew Sells Friendship Bracelets

The Naked Truth: Apparently, French Playboy published some pictures, many of them nude, of Lara Stone without her consent. She issued a statement saying “It’s not the kind of publication I would ever choose to appear in.” While French Playboy is probably more similar to French Vogue than American Playboy (Lou Doillon has appeared nude on the cover, willingly), there is something wrong with the magazine publishing the photos without Stone’s knowledge or permission. Her lawyers have begun proceedings against the magazine and photographer Greg Lotus. {The Cut}

Can’t Hardly Wait: Another online magazine goes live this Friday. It’s called Hardly and is openly aiming to fill the void that Sassy left behind, something no other magazine has successfully been able to achieve. Only a few shots have been released from the Canada-based mag, but it looks good to us and we hope it brings today’s teens the kind of happiness the Sassy brought people back in the day. {Refinery29}

Zee Goes to the Zoo:
In a kind of hilarious video, Joe Zee walks around the The City on a 90 degree day. He goes to the zoo and lays out in a park. Oh, and he’s wearing a Fall ’10 Chanel suit made entirely out of faux fur that looks like an abominable snowman costume. {Elle.com}
