Fashion News Roundup: Giorgio Armani Wishes He Were an Architect, Marilyn Monroe is Still in Fashion, and Justin Bieber Wearing Pantaloons

Marilyn Monroe Exhibit Draws Classy Fash Crowd: No angel-wing-and-thong ensembles here. A collection of rare photos of the ill-fated starlet titled Picturing Marilyn opened last night at Milk Gallery to a stylish group including Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, and Georgina Chapman. Dree Hemingway had the honor of wearing a stunning Dior-created replica of the black dress worn my Ms. Monroe in her “Last Sitting” photographs. {WWD}

Armani Opens New Hotel, Wishes He Were an Architect: Giorgio Armani, who has just opened his newest luxury hotel in Milan and has plans for several others in Paris, New York, and London, says that he wishes he could “have a fresh start as an architect.” If only the 77-year-old had the eternal youth of fellow Italian Roberto Cavalli, he’d still have at least 43 years to make that dream a reality. {Telegraph}

Pop Stars Go Waaay Old School in Classic Paintings: Ever wondered what Beyonce would look like in Queen Elizabeth’s clothes? Or daydreamed about Justin Bieber in blue velvet 18th Century pantaloons? No? Neither had we. But now that you’re curious, here they are, in some pretty convincing re-imagined classic paintings. {MTV Style}

The Craziest Looks From The MTV Europe Music Awards

The MTV Europe Music Awards were last night and, to be honest, it was such a spectacle that it’s almost impossible to do a “best dressed” list. Looking through the photos, it seemed most attendants dressed more for a night of raving in some Euro-disco club than a red carpet. There were minor highlights–such as every one of Selena Gomez’ eight outfit changes–but it’s mostly just a parade of insanity.

Click through to see the best of the EMA’s awesomely bad shenanigans.

Fashion News Roundup: Kardashians To Do Homeware, Victoria Beckham Clothing Line is Making Her Buckets of Money and Kiernan Shipka’s Best Red Carpet Looks

The Kardashian empire expands: Apparently, the Kardashians recently trademarked the name “Kardashian Kollection Home” and have plans to stamp their names on everything from from bath mats, to hand towels, pillow covers, sheets, golf towels, football towels, linens candlesticks, beer mugs, flatware, kitchen knives, picture frames and even window blinds. What’s next, toilet bowls? {TMZ}

Lol! More D-list celebrities go trick or treating (a week early) in Svedka’s Bot costume. Cutting edge digital marketing strategies at work. {E! Online}

Posh is Raking it In: There are successful celebs-turned-designers. Just look at Victoria Beckham, who reportedly made over £15million in sales in the first three months of this year. {Daily Mail}

Kiernan Shipka reign of adorableness continues…The latest: The pint-sized star (whose already a major style crush of ours) talks to Teen Vogue about her favorite red carpet looks. {Teen Vogue}

Ten Things We Learned from Bieber’s WWD Interview (Hint: He Wants to be a Designer)

OK, we’ll admit that we don’t actually know all that much about Justin Bieber, so we have a long way to go. Luckily WWD got a great interview with the Biebs during his appearance at the Dolce & Gabbana store on Fashion’s Night Out last night. (Lucky them. We waited in a throng of screeching, sobbing, pushing tweens, many of whom had much nicer handbags than us–only to be denied a Biebs sighting. Anyway.)

Here’s what we learned about his personal life, his design ambitions (of course he wants to design), and his matrimonial desires:

Glee’s Lea Michele and Darren Criss Will Be At Saks Tonight: According to the official FNO twitter, the Gleeks will celebrate FNO at Saks tonight with Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy. Perhaps this signals a possible Anna Wintour appearance? {Twitter}

Meet the Ford Model Who Looks Like Justin Bieber

Corinna Ingenleuf is a fresh face out of Hamburg, Germany and new to the Ford Models board but she’s already got a Fashion Spot thread devoted to her–which generally bodes well for a model’s future success (so does the fact that she did Pringle of Scotland’s resort look book). One commenter noted that Ingenleuf’s got “Bieber hair” but we think she’s got Bieber face, too.

So does Australia’s The Vine, who first noticed that this new model was a dead ringer for the Biebs. They suggest ditching the Lesbians Who Look Like Justin Bieber meme for the playing models who look like Justin Bieber game during fashion month. Hey, we’re game.

An Ice Cream Sundae Inspired by the Notes in Bieber’s Fragrance? Makes Perfect Sense

Tweens are snapping up Justin Bieber’s new fragrance, Someday, like kids in a candy shop in record numbers (it was the most successful celebrity fragrance launch in history). It’s an apt metaphor, since, to our noses, it smells like a cherry lollipop covered in baby powder. , just launched in the UK last week, exclusively at Harrods. To celebrate, instead of offering a gift with purchase, the famed London department store whipped up a Someday-inspired sundae (a some-dae?), WWD reports.

The sundae, called a “Bieber Bocker Glory” (we have no idea what that means) is made from ingredients inspired by the top notes of the scent. It contains wild berry and vanilla ice cream, pear, lavender sprinkles, and “edible glitter.” (Edible glitter? We know what we’re putting in our coffee this morning!)

Bieber May Be Magazine Poison, But He’s Perfume Counter Gold. (And In Other Pop Star News, Taylor Swift Now Has a Fragrance)

While Justin Bieber may not be invited to cover magazines anymore due to poor issue sales, he doesn’t need to worry about his popularity with his fan base quite yet.

The Biebs’ fragrance, Someday, destroyed sales records in its first month and is being called the most successful celebrity fragrance launch in history. Take that J. Lo and Beyonce! WWD reports that Someday brought in $3 million in less than three weeks (compare that to the previous best-selling launch, Beyonce’s Heat, which made $3million in a month.) A spokesperson for Give Back Brands, which produces the scent, told WWD (gleefully) that retailers can’t keep it in stock. (Ed. note: I think it smells pretty good. When I said this to my co-workers they looked at me blankly and said, “You do??”) Only time will tell whether or not the Biebs can maintain this momentum.

Justin Bieber is Magazine Poison

Justin Bieber is Magazine Poison

Despite his ability to attract a crowd of a zillion screeching tweens, to sell perfumed dog tags and nail polish, and to generally wreak havoc wherever he goes, there’s something the Biebs can’t do: sell magazines.

WWD reports this morning that his February 2011 Vanity Fair cover was the worst-selling issue for the glossy in 12 years. Selling just 246,000 copies, which is almost 100,000 copies less than Vanity Fair‘s average, the issue was a massive flop for the magazine. While this is perhaps not surprising (because what 11-year-old seeks out Vanity Fair?), the superstar’s mug can’t sell more age-appropriate magazines either.

Happy Independence Day! A Roundup of the Tackiest Celeb Flag Fashion

It’s the Fourth of July, and we’re lucky enough to live in a country that allows us the freedom to dress like total jackasses if we want to. Patriotic dressing never gets old and is a perennial favorite of celebs. The problem is that it rarely looks classy, and is almost always tacky. Probably because our flag is red, white, and blue with stars and stripes? That’s a lot going on for one outfit.

The ironic thing is that a lot of the celebs wearing the Stars and Stripes aren’t even from the US. (Hopefully they just think it’s cool, kinda how Americans think the Union Jack is cool.)

Click through for the most glorious sartorial abuses of our American flag, courtesy of many celebrities.
