The Met Ball is this Monday, and obviously we can’t wait to see who will be in attendance and what everyone will be wearing to fashion prom. Excitement reached a fever pitch at last night’s fancy Balmain dinner, where we got to rub shoulders with the label’s young designer Oliver Rousteing, Anthony Vaccarello, and models Read more →
Perhaps you heard, there was this little music festival that happened in the desert in California this past weekend? It was super low key and people just came for the music, man. Kidding! An Unknown To Replace Decarnin at Balmain: Despite reports that new Balmain stylist Melanie Ward might take over for Christophe Decarnin as creative director at Balmain, Elle UK hears that “They’re going to choose someone unknown…Christophe was an unknown when he came to Balmain, and the owners want to support lesser-known design talent.” {Elle UK}
Mrs. O’s Got a New Stylist: At a panel called “Why Style Matters,” moderated by Kate Betts, held last night at the New York Public Library, Peter Soronen, one of the First Lady’s favorite designers, let slip that Mrs. O seems to have a new stylist (who has replaced Meredith Koop, who stepped in after the FLOTUS stopped working with Ikram Goldman). Soroenen also dishes about what happens with the First Lady requests a dress from him. {The Cut}
Kasia Struss Ruled Not Too Skinny in Miu Miu Ad: The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority received complaints that Kasia Struss looked ‘significantly underweight’ in the brand’s spring print campaign and that the ad was irresponsible. The ASA cleared Miu Miu, stating that the ad “was not irresponsible” because it was “typical of those used for fashion products and that the model did not look significantly underweight.” {Telegraph}
Braided Bliss: Kasia Struss’s first Vogue editorial (American, that is) lands in the Rachel McAdams covered January issue. She jumps, of course, and Tonne Goodman’s styling includes the Alex Wang braid we expect to see much, much more of. {Models} Best Of: The only thing we like better than models on runways are models in Read more →

We hear Balenciaga’s readying to shoot their new campaign. Not a celebrity in sight this time around though. Charlotte Gainsbourg’s at home in Paris and Jennifer Connelly’s snug in New York because Nicolas Ghesquière chooses models this season. The line up so far includes Kasia Struss and “three unknowns.” Whether they’re grouped together or on Read more →
