Kim Kardashian’s First Pregnant Cover Shoot

DuJour, Jason Binn’s new-ish lifestyle magazine for the ultra-rich, snagged a major cover star for its third issue. Not that the previous two covers stars, Christy Turlington and Nicole Kidman, were anything to sniff at–but love her or hate her, a Kim Kardashian kover cover is bound to get DuJour the most buzz.

And we’ve got the first look at the Bruce Weber-lensed cover and editorial.

So how (and why) did the new mag snag Kardashian for the cover? And was it hard to pull clothes for the reality star, as luxury brands reportedly like to distance themselves from all things Kardashian? We asked co-editor Keith Pollock.

Elle.com Loses Over Half of Its Editorial Team

Major shakeups have gone down on Elle.com‘s editorial side. Everyone’s jumping ship! As a few media outlets have already reported, Keith Pollock, Elle.com‘s editorial director, is leaving to become editor in chief of Du Jour–a new digital and print editorial publication launching in collaboration with Gilt Groupe. What we didn’t know until recently is that he will be bringing Elle.com’s market editor, Sydney Wasserman, and art director Stephanie Jones, with him to his new gig (Jones will be the art director, Wasserman the senior market editor). So that’s about half of Elle.com’s editorial staff right there. And that’s not all…

Britt Aboutaleb, former editor of this site and Elle.com’s fashion news editor, is not only leaving Elle–she’s leaving New York! And fashion! Sort of!

Fashion News Roundup: Erin Wasson Models for Rockport Shoes, a New Balenciaga Exhibit Debuts, and Ralph Rucci Gets Lifetime Achievement Award

Erin Wasson to front Rockport Campaign: The model-turned-jewelry designer is going back in front of the camera as the face of Rockport’s Fall 2012 campaign. The shoe brand hopes that Wasson will help emphasize the “stylish” aspect of these shoes, which are worn mostly for comfort. {WWD subscription required}

Beard and Mustache Accessories Are a Thing?: It seems hipster girls are always trying to (ironically) look as unattractive as possible, thus making them more attractive to male hipsters. Refinery 29 found some chained accessories that attach to sunglasses, and hang down to create a “beard.” Weird. {Refinery 29}

Paris’ Galleria to Unveil Balenciaga Exhibit: To honor the 40th anniversary of the designer’s death, the Galleria in Paris will debut a Balenciaga tribute this Friday. The show, “Cristóbal Balenciaga, Collectionneur de Modes” (“Cristóbal Balenciaga, Collector of Fashion”) features a wealth of 18-20th century Spanish clothing, which was a great inspiration for the designer. {WWD subscription required}

Elle.com Gets a Makeover

Elle.com Gets a Makeover

Here’s the thing about most fashion magazine websites: They suck.

Yet we appreciate Elle‘s online presence. Mostly because the team puts a concerted effort into producing original content that is as compelling as what’s in the magazine. Also because it’s not simply a wasteland for PR favors. And finally, because Britt runs the blog. (It’s good. If you’re not reading it daily, you should be.)

Why is this glossy different from the rest? Elle gets that most mag-connected sites are jumbled messes that aren’t particularly easy to navigate or fun to read.

But despite Elle.com being better than the rest, editorial director Keith Pollock and co. still weren’t satisfied with what they had to offer their readers. So they’ve gotten a face lift.
