Grooming Gifts To Buy (and Steal From) Your Dad
Gift Guide

Grooming Gifts To Buy (and Steal From) Your Dad

Dads are sometimes hard to shop for come Father’s Day. Mine loves fishing, radio control helicopters, and Agatha Christie–three things I know absolutely nothing about. This is where grooming products come in. Every dad could use a good grooming product but would probably never buy one for himself.

With that in mind, we chose products based on their awesomeness for dads as well as their potential attractiveness to daughters who sometimes stay over night. (We’re sure your dad will be happy for any motivation to visit him, right?)

9 Awesomely Dirty Beauty Products You Should Try
Dirt Don't Hurt

9 Awesomely Dirty Beauty Products You Should Try

We’ve been told all our lives that dirt is bad. Bad to eat, bad to track into the house, and, especially, bad for your pores. Most beauty cleansing products are designed to eradicate dirt from your skin, but there are actually benefits to having a little bit of it in your beauty routine. Earthy ingredients with dirt bases, like clay and volcanic ash, actually clarify and cleanse your skin in a non-drying way that soap just can’t.

In honor of Earth Day, we’ve picked out some beauty products that actually celebrate dirt, whether it be as a cleanser, scent (yes, really), or color inspiration–and work really really well.

Don’t Get Burned by the New FDA Sunscreen Guidelines: Here’s Everything You Need to Know

It’s summer and I already have a bad farmer tan and some new freckles to prove it, thanks to a careless (and hatless) weekend spent in the suburbs with friends. It’s time to stock up on sunscreen, and while it’s not the sexiest beauty product out there, it’s a necessary evil–unless you want wrinkles, weird dark spots…oh and don’t forget cancer. We know–you’ve heard all this before.

What you may not have heard is that the way you are using sunscreen needs to change.

Fashionista’s FNO Guide #1: Where to Find the Celebrities
Fashion Is Fun

Fashionista’s FNO Guide #1: Where to Find the Celebrities

We can’t believe Fashion’s Night Out (and, thus, fashion week) is only a week away. As anyone who has ever been to a Fashion’s Night Out is probably aware, they pack enough events to fill an entire week into just a few hours, so pre-FNO planning is key. While Vogue‘s interactive map is quite handy, that is still a lot of stores to go through. So, we’re preparing a few of our own Fashion’s Night Out guides.

This one is for those of you who just want to see some famous people. We don’t blame you! Fashion’s Night Out offers rare opportunities to get up close and personal with real Hollywood stars. Maybe Tilda Swinton and Ne-Yo will become friends or Daniel Radcliffe will get wasted or Alexa Chung will debut a new haircut or Seth Meyers will screw up your drink or the Real Housewives of New York will be insane (that last one is the most likely)! Here’s our guide to where all your favorite celebs will be.

Backstreet Boy AJ McLean Is Performing at Fashion’s Night Out for Kiehl’s

Kiehl’s is doing their Karoke Karnival for Fashion’s Night Out again this year, and though the K-themed naming would make it seem like the Kardashians are hosting, they went with the 90s trend and booked former Backstreet Boy AJ McLean as the night’s MC.

If you’re going to be around their Third Avenue store you can stop by at 6:30pm to belt out a tune, which wins everyone (no matter how terrible) a lip balm and a slot in one of their hourly raffles of assorted Kiehl’s goodies. The “Karnival” part has to do with the hot dogs, cotton candy and soft pretzels they’re doling out, which is super helpful to know about considering most stores give away free booze but no food during FNO. McLean is also reportedly going to give a live performance and there are “celebrity guest appearances” scheduled…do we dare hope for a full BSB reunion?
