Lady Gaga’s New Perfume Revealed

For the last few months Lady Gaga has not figured that prominently in our news feeds or in our thoughts–the occasional concert ban notwithstanding. But suddenly she’s everywhere! We learned yesterday that Mother Monster already shot the cover of Vogue‘s September issue, a move that should help Vogue sell issues (her March cover was the mag’s number two best-seller of the year) and help Gaga sell her new perfume.

Ah, that elusive perfume! We’ve been hearing about that damn potion for almost two years now, and as we get closer to the launch date, rumors continue to fly.

Here’s what we know:

Lady Gaga Snags Vogue‘s Coveted 2012 September Issue Cover

Summer hasn’t even officially begun yet, but here in fashion land, we’ve already got our sights set on fall. Vogue has just announced that Lady Gaga will once again serve as its cover girl this autumn, this time for its highly covetable September issue.

Despite Gaga’s tendency towards wardrobe malfunctions and platform-induced tumbles, the pop star is actually a pretty safe choice for Vogue. According to WWD, Gaga’s March 2011 cover was the second-best seller of the year, so Vogue is undoubtedly hoping for a repeat performance. Last year’s September issue featured another old heavy-hitting Vogue fave, Kate Moss.

The cover makes sense time-(and money-)wise for camp Gaga, too.

Disco Isn’t Dead: From Madonna to Beyoncé, Donna Summer’s Style Lives On

We were saddened to hear today about the passing of Donna Summer, who lost her battle to lung cancer today at the age of 63. Summer moved us (both physically and emotionally) with her strong, sultry vocals, smoldering stage presence, and of course, her unabashedly glamorous look.

Not only did her voice define a genre, but her style set the standard for divas to come. You don’t have to look far to see traces of Donna’s style in some of our most beloved stars today.

So, to honor of the late Queen of Disco, here is a tribute to the continued legacy she left on fashion. From Lady Gaga to Toni Braxton, click through to see Donna’s style influence.

Indonesian Police Cancel Gaga’s Sold Out Show Because of Her ‘Sexual and Indecent Clothes’

Looks like Mother Monster won’t be sporting that rotting meat dress in Indonesia anytime soon. Lady Gaga’s first-ever concert in Indonesia, scheduled to take place June 3rd in Jakarta, was cancelled today after extreme opposition from religious groups claiming that the pop star’s outlandish wardrobe posed a societal threat, the AP is reporting. 52,000 Indonesian little monsters had already purchased tickets to the sold-out show, with 2,000 more tickets released to the public just yesterday.

Victoria Beckham Covers Harpers UK: Queen Victoria (pre-lob pob cut) covers May’s Harper’s Bazaar UK looking flaw-free in that Prada bodysuit the fashion set just can’t seem to fold away. The glossy was the first to feature Vic on the cover as a serious fashion contender back in 2009, and apparently, the super soccer mom hasn’t been on a vacation alone with husband David since. A blessing and a curse… {Harper’s Bazaar UK}

The it-designer known for her photorealist prints says it was a “happy accident” that she started designing for guys, after Henry Holland peeped a pic of Mary’s male friend donning one of her women’s blazers. There’s no official line yet, but Mary K’s not ruling it out for the future– and we can already see Kanye getting in on one of her fly floral get-ups. {Vogue UK}

Garance Doré Doesn’t Think The Vogue Kiddie Diet Article Was Necessarily A Bad Thing: While we’re all up in arms over Dara Lynn Weiss’ “Weight Watcher” testimony in this month’s Vogue, blogger Garance Doré thinks it does serve a positive purpose. She writes, “…I find it good that Vogue, through that testimony, breaks the silence of one of those ‘normal’ women that live with a food disorder all their life.” While she makes a good argument for awareness, it’s not like there isn’t a huge discourse about eating disorders, especially in the fashion world. We’re more concerned about the psychological effects Weiss’ actions had on her perfectly healthy seven-year-old. {The Cut}

Dolce & Gabbana Sues Dolce & Banana: No, this is real. The famed Italian design house has filed a lawsuit against Cape Town gift shop Dolce & Banana for trademark infringement, claiming the store “makes a mockery of the well-known trademark, Dolce & Gabbana.” Sounds like Domencio and Stefano are not fans of clever puns. {Racked}
