If there’s anything more disconcerting than how quickly a Victoria’s Secret Angel loses her baby fat post-preganancy, it has to be learning that some of them were actually pregnant when they walked in the show. Yesterday we found out that Alessandra Ambrosio was about two months pregnant when she pranced and danced down the runway in November, and now there’s news that another Angel may be pregnant with a li’l angel.
E! is reporting that Lily Aldridge and hubby Caleb Followill, who’s the frontman for Kings of Leon, are expecting their first baby.
The Victoria’s Secret fashion show is airing tonight (on CBS, 10/9C), and it’s always a spectacle of physical perfection. We don’t know if this will make you feel any better, but we dug up some pictures of some of the well-known Angels, and while–yes, they were obviously adorable–they’ve also had their share of bad bowl haircuts, gangly limbs, and mom-imposed fashion. But they’ve all emerged from their cocoons to earn their Angel wings (um, sorry for mixing metaphors there) and we’re excited to see the whole extravaganza tonight.

The underage model saga continues. Given the recent controversies regarding underage models, including one that involved CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg discovering that one of her models, Hailey Clauson (yes, the same one involved in that Urban Outfitters lawsuit), was only 15 at the time of her runway show, the CFDA is introducing new measures to ensure the safety and legality of models in the fashion industry.
According to WWD, Furstenberg and CFDA CEO Steven Kolb sent out a letter to members yesterday recommending that they start carding models on the day of the show (before they hit the runway) to make sure they meet the 16 year age minimum. That seems like something they should do earlier, like in the casting stages, or before their agencies send them out, but I guess better late than never?
Michael Kors recently spoke to Lauren Hutton in the new Interview (so awesome) and suggested that models started lying to him about their ages as soon as said he wouldn’t use models under 16:
