From Michael Kors to Marissa Webb, Every Lincoln Center Runway Show To Be Livestreamed

Want to go to fashion week but you a) don’t live in New York and don’t work in fashion or b) do live in New York and work in fashion but are lazy and hate the cold?

IMG has just announced that, for the first time, every show taking place at the tents will be livestreamed at newyork.mbfashionweek.com and facebook.com/mbfashion week. That means you’ll be able to watch close to 90 shows, from biggies like Michael Kors and Diane Von Furstenberg to up-and-comers like Marissa Webb and Timo Weiland.

Gwyneth Paltrow is the New Face of Max Factor, The Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine Designs a Line, and Anna Wintour is Obama’s Top Bundler

We knew Anna Wintour was a major contributor to the Obama campaign, but just how much has she raised? Well, to put it lightly: a lot.{The Cut}, {NY Times}

The Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine has teamed up with contemporary label PJK (formerly Patterson J. Kincaid) to create a new line for Spring, aptly (and hilariously) called MR x PJK…Just Sayin’. We assume it will be appropriately man-repelling, so wear with caution. {WWD}

Check out this super cool video, shot backstage and on the runway, that was made with the Google Glasses Diane von Furstenberg had on runway. So that’s what they were there for! {HuffPo}

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff Launches New Agency to Bridge Gap Between Fashion and Entertainment

If anyone were to launch a definitive creative agency to foster and coordinate fashion industry partnerships, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff is probably one of the only people who could do it.

She used to be Vogue‘s director of special events, which means she basically organized the Met Ball every year, in addition to myriad other events, partnerships and initiatives that likely required the movement of mountains to make happen. And, as of 2010 she’s been the first ever fashion director at Lincoln Center, where she was responsible for consulting on all coordination between LC and the fashion industry, which sounds like a giant headache, but, as anyone who’s been to a show at the tents should know, she made it work.

Now, Winston Wolkoff is stepping out on her own…

Upper West Siders Call Fashion Week an ‘Assault’ on Their Neighborhood; Want It Gone

Fashion Week’s move from Bryant Park to Lincoln Center was never terribly well-received. And now, it seems, the groaning prayers of fashion industry Broolynites and downtowners, loathe to travel so far uptown, have been answered. Well, sort of.

Residents of the neighborhood surrounding Lincoln Center say that since Fashion Week moved to the plaza in 2010, Damrosch Park is off limits nearly ten months out of the year, thanks to the bi-annual industry event, as well as other cultural and private events alike, reports the New York Times. It’s true many of these events–like the Big Apple Circus–have been staged at Lincoln Center for years, but, according to one resident of a nearby building, Susan Levy, “[Fashion week] was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.”

Fashion News Roundup: Christopher Bailey Tweets, A Theft At Michael Kors, and The Hunt For The World’s Sexiest Shoe

Theft At Lincoln Center: Apparently there was a theft during the Michael Kors show on Wednesday. A photographer and his assistant, who were sitting in the photographer’s pit, were robbed of their credit cards, cash, and metro cards. Soon after, Hollister reported a significant spike in sales at their Soho location. We kid. {Styleite}

Christopher Bailey Tweets: Creative director at Burberry, Christopher Bailey, has taken over Burberry’s twitter. Up until September 21–the day of the Burberry show–Bailey will be tweeting away about the preparations for the S/S 2011 show. Already up? A picture from his walk to work and a picture from inside the studio. {Twitter}

That’s Damrosch, Not Bryant

It’s official: Damrosch Park (part of the Lincoln Center plaza) is the new Bryant Park, but not until September of next year. Spring 2011 (“Spring 11″ just doesn’t look right) will be here, in case you just can’t yet visualize it either.
