Fashion News Roundup: Kate Moss Mugs for Mango and Dior, Nicole Kidman to Play Grace Kelly and Mulberry Releases its Lana Del Rey Bag a Month Early

Kate Moss Models for Mango and Dior: While tons of the Supers have been making ‘comebacks’ recently, Kate Moss seems to be working overtime to prove she’s never gone anywhere. Check out the Model of the Millennium (as we’re choosing to dub her at this moment) looking fierce, fit, and fab in new her campaign shots for Mango and Dior Addict. {Telegraph, Kiss and Makeup}

More Men Are Getting Bikini Waxes: On that same hairy note, it turns out more and more guys are trading in their razors for professional bikini waxes. He-waxes? Man-kinis? Bro-zilians? Some salons are even offering “pejazzling services,” applying crystals in the shapes of stars and dolphins– Perfect for that upcoming Lisa Frank-themed adult film. {NY Times}

Fashion News Roundup: Tommy Hilfiger Joins American Idol, Holland’s Next Top Model Winner Wins Lawsuit Against ELITE Models, and SJP to Return to Fashion

Tommy Hilfiger is American Idol‘s New Image Consultant: The folks at American Idol are giving the program a fashion edge, tapping the talents of Tommy Hilfiger. The designer will advise contestants on what it takes to look like a star. {WWD subscription required}

Holland’s Next Top Model Winner Wins Lawsuit Against ELITE Models: Well, here’s some good news: Ananda Marchildon, who was dropped from ELITE Model Management for being “too hippy,” just won a lawsuit against the agency. ELITE dropped Marchildon after she failed to get her hip width down two centimeters to the preferred 90cm. They withheld a chunk of her Top Model winnings, awarding her only $13,000 out of the $98,500 she was promised. An Amsterdam court ruled that since Marchildon was signed to the agency with her enormous 92cm hips, “Elite could therefore not demand she reach a hip size of 90 centimeters.” ELITE has been ordered to pay her the $85,000 she is due. Justice is served! {OMG! Yahoo!}

Kate Moss is the New Face of Mango

Another season, another Kate Moss-fronted ad campaign. In her first major campaign post-nuptials, Kate Moss has been announced as the new face of Barcelona-based retailer Mango. It’s not her first time working with the brand–she starred in a wacky video for them last year with her friend Terry Richardson, which Richardson directed for their fall Read more →

Ranking the Fall Ads, Part 3

Ranking the Fall Ads, Part 3

Ads can be a million times better than the best editorial, or a trillion times worse. The way I see it, ads are the place for a brand to tell its version of a story for fall. It’s like viewing a collection in its natural habitat…so it better be good. (Like this Givenchy ad at left.)

This bunch of fall ads includes Tom Ford, Alexander Wang, Armani, and Proenza Schouler among others, so click through to see who we think succeeded and who didn’t fare so well.

As for those Ceryth Wyn Evans Marc Jacobs men’s ads… A++. If you wanna send a framed one to our office, that would be totally fine. Our Céline manifesto was looking a little lonely, anyway.

Fashion News Roundup: Anja Rubik’s Wedding Pics, Images From Ricardo Tisci’s Visionaire and Miranda Kerr’s Golden Baby

Anja Rubik Got Married In A Mullet-Train Dress: The short-in-front, long-in-back dress is actually really gorgeous. Also love her ribbon-tie heels and the enormous crowns she and now-hubby Sasha Knezevic sport. {Vogue UK}

See Images From Ricardo Tisci’s Religion-Themed Issue of Visionaire: Since it’s likely you won’t want to shell out the $425 for the full issue, check out some photos here. It’s a bit unusual (there’s a banana wrapped in a ribbon that says “Jesus <3 Me") but looks great, with shots of Lara Stone, Arizona Muse with her babyy, and even Tisci himself. {Styleite}

Mulberry Makes Bank: Shoulda invested in an Alexa before it was cool. The Brit brand’s stocks rose 526% last year and its worth jumped from to $267 million to $1.65 billion, making it the world’s best-performing fashion house. {Telegraph}

Fashion News Roundup: Possible Photoshop Restrictions, Karlie Kloss’s Next Top Model and Giorgio Armani Hates On Prada

American Medical Association Finally Addresses Photoshop: The AMA wants to work out restrictions in the advertising industry to “discourage the altering of photographs in a manner that could promote unrealistic expectations of appropriate body image.” It’s a start–could we hope for magazine editorials and covers next? {Jezebel}

Karlie Kloss’ Model Competition: The model is teaming up with Mother Model Management, who discovered the 18-year-old in Wisconsin in 2005, to hold a nationwide search for the “next top model” that will end in a charity fashion show and event, hosted by Kloss. {Telegraph}

Giorgio Armani Is Not A Fan of Prada: In another case of designer-on-designer hate, Armani bashed Miuccia Prada on her Hong Kong stock debut, saying it was just a way to cover debts. He also said both she and fellow Italians Dolce and Gabbana often turns out “ugly” clothes. {WWD}
