Titans of the footwear industry mingled alongside shoe-obsessed celebs like Victor Cruz, Fergie, Miranda Kerr, and more at last night’s 26th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards held at MoMa.

But the real star of the night was shoe designer Stuart Weitzman, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award. “I am not so naive as to not know that there are thousands of people in this industry who work as hard as I do,” said Weitzman of the honor. “Not everybody gets noticed, so it’s pretty humbling to be noticed.” Well, Weitzman has been noticed by everyone from Queen Elizabeth II to Beyonce, who recorded a special video congratulating him (“I’ve danced literally 1,000 miles in his amazing shoes,” she shared). So is there anyone Weitzman wishes he could see in his designs?

After finding quirky make up muses in Daphne Guinness, Beth Ditto, and Iris Apfel, M.A.C. has announced a new collection based on the Ultimate Muse – Marilyn Monroe. (A little late to jump on that bandwagon, but hey, Michelle Williams could still win an Oscar for My Week With Marilyn, right?)

Ungaro Can’t Catch a Break: It hasn’t been a good start to 2012 for Emanuel Ungaro, which announced that, in addition to not being able to deliver its spring collection to retailers, it also won’t be presenting a fall collection at fashion week and has canceled all appointments for pre-fall. Current owner Asim Abdullah vaguely stated that the brand is going through an “internal reorganization” that will allow for Ungaro to become “profitable in the near future.” Hmm… This seems suspiciously (and perfectly) timed for former Ungaro guest-designer Lindsay Lohan’s 2012 comeback.
