Mario Testino is one of the most recognized photographers in the world, known for his work in the fashion industry and his intimate portraits of the British Royal Family. Even though he has released several books and been the subject of London’s National Portrait Gallery’s most successful exhibition to date, he is only just now getting his first US exhibition in an unexpected place: the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

There’s no doubt that Anna Wintour and Mario Testino have a close working relationship–a fact that was underscored last night, at the opening of Testino’s first US exhibition, “In Your Face,” held at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Given the number of shots in the exhibition that come from Vogue editorials–and the number of Vogue covers Testino consistently shoots every year–it’s obvious there’s something between Anna and Mario that makes for great photos.
So, when I saw Anna (looking fabulous in Prada S/S 2013, by the way) chatting with Vogue European editor-at-large Hamish Bowles at last night’s cocktail reception (more on that later) I knew I had to ask them what it is about Mario that makes him one of Vogue‘s go-to photographer.

It follows model host duo Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls as they take the runways of Paris Fashion Week.
We trail them backstage and in between shows. Joan and Karlie talk about what it was like to be taller than the boys growing up and skinnier than, well, everyone. Smalls reveals that she used to wear two pairs of tube socks in Puerto Rico (where it’s HOT) just to make her ankles look bigger.

We counted 55 trips down the catwalk at all four international fashion weeks, including some seriously major shows like Oscar de la Renta, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, and Chanel.
But what really sets Cara apart from her model compatriots is her personality.
The trench got a metallic makeover. It was chopped and cropped into capelets, corsets, and capes in done shimmering shades of fuchsia, turquoise, green and bright red.

Here is Nicole Kidman–nearly all of Nicole Kidman–gracing the giant fold-out cover of V Magazine‘s upcoming Travel Issue, on stands August 30. The ‘skirt’ (server belt? Low-slung cummerbund?) is apparently Chanel–though it’s unclear whether it’s intended for an adult or toddler–and really doesn’t leave much to the imagination. In the interview accompanying the decidedly 80s-inspired spread (shot by Mario Testino and styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele), Kidman admits that she regrets not getting a little wild at times:
