Here’s everything that is inspiring us this month!
Another wave of September and fall magazine issues have come and gone, which means that it is time to take a look back at the content from the most important month in fashion.
Editors select the best and brightest (both talent and clothing) for their most important issue, but who and what actually got the most face time? Who surprised us?
Vogue Paris is just about the last fashion glossy to unveil its all-important September issue (why you always so slow, Vogue Italia?), and the reveal comes with an overall redesign of the iconic glossy, solidifying new-ish EIC Emmanuelle Alt‘s stamp on the magazine and fully realizing her point of view.
Now that you’ve seen the amazingness that is Lady Gaga‘s September Vogue cover, you get to see all the wigs, fans, Marc Jacobs fluffy hats, silly hand gestures and facial expressions that went into it. We can’t really think of a more fun way to start your Friday. Scored appropriately by Lady Gaga’s “Hair,” this Read more →
Love Issue 8 hit newsstands today and in addition to all the Downton Abbey amazingness, there are tons of goodies to be found inside. Love gave us an exclusive peek at supermodel Kristen McMenamy in “Fawnicate,” an editorial shot by Mert & Marcus and styled by Love Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand. We’re told the photogs aimed Read more →
Sixteen years later, Chloe Sevigny still has it. She follows actress Mia Wasikowska as the new face of Miu Miu’s fall 2012 ad campaign, shot by Mert & Marcus. Sevigny, who wore Miu Miu to the Met Ball this year, was rumored to be the label’s new face last month in a seemingly random Fashion Read more →
Insanely prolific Vogue cover girl Kate Moss has nabbed her first Vogue UK cover of 2012. And based on her track record, there’s a pretty decent chance it won’t be her last. She’s now been on 32 (!?!) covers of the magazine’s British edition alone since her first in March 1993.
Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot Mariacarla Boscono at the historic Ritz Hotel in Madrid for Loewe‘s fall/winter 2011 campaign. The shoot was art directed and styled by Katie Grand, who felt passionately about the campaign’s location: “We felt it was really important that it took place somewhere iconically Spanish. We had considered shooting on Read more →
The fall campaigns keep rolling in today, the latest of which feature some very big names. The first image from Givenchy’s Fall Women’s campaign surfaced on Style.com. It was shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and stars Naomi Campbell. If it looks like she’s making a slightly frightening scowl, that’s because the campaign (and the collection) is feline-inspired. Things get even crazier in the behind-the-scenes video of the shoot which features Naomi, Natalia Vodianova, Kristen McMenamy, and Mariacarla Boscono posing on ornate pillows with their best growl faces. Unfortunately, we can’t hear if the models are actually saying “grr,” but that’s probably a good thing.
Material Girl: Madonna looks amazing in the new Interview. Mert & Marcus shot the black and white cover and editorial. {Interview} A Picture Story: V Magazine gives us a peek at Lady Gaga’s photo journal, shot by Haus of Gaga’s Creative Director Matt Williams. {V} Wine and Dine Me: Refinery29′s giving away a dinner date Read more →
