Fashionista’s FNO Guide #1: Where to Find the Celebrities

Fashionista’s FNO Guide #1: Where to Find the Celebrities

We can’t believe Fashion’s Night Out (and, thus, fashion week) is only a week away. As anyone who has ever been to a Fashion’s Night Out is probably aware, they pack enough events to fill an entire week into just a few hours, so pre-FNO planning is key. While Vogue‘s interactive map is quite handy, that is still a lot of stores to go through. So, we’re preparing a few of our own Fashion’s Night Out guides.

This one is for those of you who just want to see some famous people. We don’t blame you! Fashion’s Night Out offers rare opportunities to get up close and personal with real Hollywood stars. Maybe Tilda Swinton and Ne-Yo will become friends or Daniel Radcliffe will get wasted or Alexa Chung will debut a new haircut or Seth Meyers will screw up your drink or the Real Housewives of New York will be insane (that last one is the most likely)! Here’s our guide to where all your favorite celebs will be.

Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Palermo and Other Celebs Designed Shoes For Stuart Weitzman–Would You Wear Any of Their Designs?

Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Palermo and Other Celebs Designed Shoes For Stuart Weitzman–Would You Wear Any of Their Designs?

Red carpet regulars Olivia Palermo, Scarlett Johansson, Hayden Panettiere and Michelle Trachtenberg have all teamed up with Stuart Weitzman to try their hand at shoe design.

According to the release, proceeds from what Weitzman has dubbed the “Young Hollywood Cares Collection,” will benefit Marsha Moses’ research in ovarian cancer at the Folkman Institute in Boston. They range in price from $425 to $498 and will be available online and in Stuart Weitzman boutiques come September. Panettiere and Trachtenberg (who co-starred in Ice Princess!) will be at Stuart Weitzman’s Madison Avenue flagship on Fashion’s Night Out to celebrate the collection’s unveiling.

So could a footwear design career be in any of these girls’ futures? Well, Olivia Palermo, the only one who isn’t a Hollywood actress, designed the only shoe without a platform and the only one we really like (Trachtenberg’s is made out of denim, crystals and snakeskin). Which is your favorite? Click through to see all four.

Last Night’s Party: Rebecca Taylor Opens Meatpacking District Digs, Plans to Launch a Kids Collection

Snowflakes and slushy streets didn’t put a damper on festivities as Rebecca Taylor welcomed party goers to her newest boutique on Wednesday night. While the plummeting temperatures called for snow boots and parkas, Taylor fans opted to don their favorite spring looks at the designer’s Meatpacking District outpost. Selita Ebanks chose a polka dot skirt paired with a floral tank, 30 Rock‘s Katrina Bowden wore a floral jumper, and we even spotted a certain Gossip Girl in a floppy sunhat. (Tika Sumpter, to be exact.)

The space reflects Taylor’s flirty ensembles. From the ornate ceiling moldings to the cast-resin furniture complete with a touch of burnished gold, it’s easy to see that the designer played a big role bringing the store to fruition. “I’ve been 100% hands on with this project,” said Taylor as she took a break from greeting guests. “I’ve been here all day working on everything including the flower arrangements! I’m a little bit of a freak like that,” she admitted. Of course, she did have the help of APALondon, a design firm that has also worked with the likes of Stella McCartney and Adidas to create unique store layouts.

Coach & Gossip Girl, Like Duh

The best part of this article, in which WWD explains they’ve heard Michelle Trachtenberg’s ‘designing’ a line of jewelry for Coach’s new Poppy line, is when they describe her, “tough-girl meets sugary-sweet vibe.” That’s Georgina, right? Minus the all-important word “psychopath?” So she’s making baubles with Coach for spring. The line will focus on colorful Read more →

Explain

Georgina’s Party

Michelle Trachtenberg’s danced around the fashion crowd for a bit now without actually attaching her name to anything (except for her stint as one of the faces for Candie’s at Kohl’s which she’d probably like us to forget.) But now she’s throwing a party for Guess. They’re re-opening their Soho flagship store at the end Read more →

If The Gossip Girls Were Designers…

Eventually, one of the Gossip Girl stars will design some kind of line. Our money’s on Blake being the first, but until then, here’s a sneak peek of what those designs would probably look like – Blake, Leighton, and even Michelle, have all designed shoes for Stuart Weitzman’s Annual Celebrity Shoe Auction, and so far, Read more →

Notes on the Met Ball

What I learned at the Met Ball last night: – Zac Posen is my fashion superhero. Please see his combined superman costume with Kate Mara. – Models only hang out with models. I felt like a kid in a candy store watching Coco, Anja, Hilary, Chanel, Stam, Lily D., and Doutzen cluster for 15 minutes…although Read more →

Michelle Trachtenberg: Blogger

Michelle Trachtenberg’s newest role as Georgina Sparks on Gossip Girl has her working overtime. America’s next favorite villainess is also now a blogger for Cosmo‘s website. Her first post is already up, and it’s pretty clear that the space will largely be devoted to rehashing what she wore on set, and, of course, to plugging Read more →

Would You Wear

Hi Blake, Hello Leather Pants

I‚Äôve been begging Natalie and Britt to do a ‚ÄúWould You Wear Leather Pants?‚Äù for a month now, but Natalie always says, “Over my dead body.” But today, I finally got the ultimate vindication: during a field strip to the meatpacking district, we spotted Blake Lively on set (Spice Market! They’re probably still there!) walking Read more →

Now we really can’t wait for the return of Gossip Girl.
