Rachel Roy to Release Footwear Line: As a few non-designers zealously stamp their names on shoe lines, actual designer Rachel Roy is expanding her brand, adding a footwear collection to the two clothing and accessory lines bearing her namesake. Due out in August, Rachel Roy collection consists of flats, boots, and naturally, pumps inspired by long-time mentor and collaborator, Manolo Blahnik. {WWD, subscription required}

Makeup For When You’re Dead (Winged Liner Is Completely Acceptable)

Forgive me for being morbid, but it’s the week before Halloween–what better time to talk about death and makeup? Plus it seems like everywhere I turn I’m reading about it (not sure what that says about my choice of reading materials lately.)

Back in July, we reported on Brit makeup brand Illamasqua collaborating with a London funeral home to provide glam looks for the afterlife. Well, it’s not really as nutty a concept as it originally appeared.
