As has become the norm for FNO (or what is more accurately a boozy Halloween for shopping enthusiasts), come September 6, stores across NYC and Read more →

Here’s Kristen Stewart’s New Balenciaga Florabotanica Fragrance Ad (Even Though the Actress Has Never Worn Perfume Before)

When we first heard that Kristen Stewart had been tapped to be the face of a new Balenciaga fragrance back in January, our first reaction was, “Huh?”, and then general acceptance. Since then, the reigning highest paid actress in Hollywood has graced many a red carpet in the label–looking stunning at every photo op. Perhaps a better match than we thought.

Now we know a lot more about the fragrance and KStew’s role, including a (sorta fuzzy and crappy iPhone shot–sorry) of her first ad.

In Honor of David Beckham’s Foray Into Fashion Here are the 13 Hottest Dudes Designing Today

David Beckham might not be a real designer in the way that his wife has turned out to be–but you’ll still be able to buy his clothes at H&M come fall, when his bodywear line (read: undies) launches.

So in honor of Becks and his flawless bod (not to mention chiseled jaw line) joining the fashion fray, we decided to round up all the hotties designing right now. There are really some good looking men out there making clothes for ladies. We couldn’t list them all, but here’s a start. Take a look:

Label News: Pringle Hires a Balenciaga Designer as Its Creative Director; Sigerson and Morrison Leave Sigerson Morrison

Label News: Pringle Hires a Balenciaga Designer as Its Creative Director; Sigerson and Morrison Leave Sigerson Morrison

There’s been lots of moving around at fashion houses as of late, and this week is no different. First, Pringle announced that it’s bringing on Balenciaga alum Alistair Carr as its new design director.

Carr, who most recently worked directly under Nicolas Ghesquiere, has also done time at Marni, Cacharel, and Chloe. This is a big get for Pringle, and a chance for Carr to make a real name for himself beyond the industry’s core. (He is also a mentor/friend of Fred Butler’s; you can learn quite a bit about him on her blog.) Indeed, Pringle just became a hot London Fashion Week ticket.

Stateside, Sigerson Morrison founders Kari Sigerson and Miranda Morrison have announced that they’re leaving the company.

Balenciaga Hires LVMH Alum Katherine Ross to Refocuss Its US Communications Strategy
The Business

Balenciaga Hires LVMH Alum Katherine Ross to Refocuss Its US Communications Strategy

Balenciaga, part of PPR’s Gucci Group, may be well-regarded for its trend-withstanding handbags and innovative runway shows. But when it comes to marketing, the luxury label typically takes the traditional route, choosing the occasional magazine advertisement as its main source of communicating its brand to clients. At least those living in the US.

Until now.

Fashion’s Night Out: Where The Major Designers Will Be

Fashion’s Night Out is two weeks from tomorrow! There is more going on than we can even wrap our heads around. Having trouble deciding where you want to go and who you want to see the most?

Well, if you’re interested in catching a peak of one of your favorite designers, here’s a roundup of where some of the biggest and the best will be on September 10. We’ve excluded most of the people we’ve already reported on. Also, it’s almost safe to say that if someone isn’t on this list, they will probably be at Barneys.

Michael Kors
Michael will be at his lifestyle store on Madison and 61st in New York City. He will be joined by TONY Award winner Idina Menzel, whom Michael will accompany on a selection of songs. Michael will also make an appearance nearby at Bloomingdale’s 59th street, where the “World of Michael” will be created to kick off a new Michael Kors handbag shop-in-shop.

Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy will be kicking off FNO and his brand’s 25th anniversary at Macy’s Herald Square. As we’ve reported, Macy’s will house “The Ultimate Tailgate Party” as inspired by Tommy’s most recent ad campaign. Tommy will be accompanied by Macy’s CEO Terry Lundgren. He will also make an appearance at his Fifth Avenue store, where shoppers can have their purchases personalized with an exploding monogram while they shop, listen to DJ Toddlerone and drink up.
