Today is day two of Chloe Sevigny’s takeover on Nowness–and unsurprisingly there are many gems to be enjoyed–like a just unearthed X-girl video in which Sevigny sneaks into a Marc Jacobs show and asks Naomi Campbell, Jacobs, and Hamish Bowles if they’ve heard of a particular World Bank exec. (They hadn’t.) It’s weird and very, very 90s as one can imagine.
Sevigny also sat down with Interview‘s Christopher Bollen to discuss everything from New York in the 90s to dating Harmony Korine. We have an exclusive excerpt from the interview–which won’t run anywhere else–that has the queen of indie dishing on modeling (in a mask!) for Margiela in 1995, and her “weird addiction.” Read on.
Earlier today, YSL’s new ad for Manifesto starring Jessica Chastain hit the internet (via an old Instagram) and as beautiful as it is, the purple paint covering her hands is a little puzzling. Even more puzzling: this isn’t the first time purple hands have shown up in a fashion photo.

Dutch artistic duo Lernert and Sander, who are known for doing weird videos like melting a chocolate bunny with a hairdryer, shot Belgian beauty Hannelore Knuts for their latest short film on NOWNESS. Called Natural Beauty, the duo’s goal was “to apply 365 layers of makeup in one day to see how much is needed to go from a natural look to an outrageous one.”
Nowness, LVMH‘s editorial reincarnation of retail site eLuxury, has made few waves since its launch on February 25. That was until last night, when the site hosted a screening of Tamra Davis’s documentary Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child at MoMA. Britt and I were lucky enough to attend, as were a gaggle of massive names, Read more →
We’re not sure when Nowness launched, but we’ve been sucked in. The site, which wants to be, “an exciting new way to experience luxury lifestyle online,” posts new videos, images, collages or virtual experiences every day, starting about two weeks ago. The video above features Lily Donaldson’s hair, today’s profiles Lucien Freud and last week, Read more →
