Did Madonna steal from Patricia Field? The “Vogue” hats being sold as merch on her MDNA tour look a little too familiar, according to Field’s camp. (Then again, Madonna did come up with the song. There’s also that magazine…) {Patricia Field Tumblr}

Here’s a little mid-Fashion-Week snack for you: Andrej Pejic, dressed as Marilyn Monroe, in Norman Jean–a film created by Prince Chenoa and Jacob Dekat from Love Cat magazine, filmmaker Jenna Elizabeth and styled by Patricia Field.
Ladies, are you put off because your feminine hygiene products are too boring? Does your pad or tampon not reflect the kind of girl you really are? Well, as you might have heard by now, Kotex and Pat Field have teamed up to make your pads and tampons less clinical and more colorful.
Yesterday Kotex hosted an event with Pat Field to kick off the launch of their new campaign “Ban the Bland” which is all about inciting girls to take a stand against the “bland” institutional, boring, and plain white look of feminine care products. Field has partnered with Kotex to oversee a design competition which invites women to design their own pad on www.BantheBland.com. You can design one right now–the contest runs through June 29. Then three finalists, voted on by the masses, get the chance to meet with Field who will mentor them and help them hone their designs for a new U by Kotex pad that will make it to market in some incarnation (I say “some incarnation” because some design elements–glitter for example–are just impracticable or impossible to incorporate and have the product still function). Plus, the winner gets to attend a show at New York Fashion Week.
And while Field will only serve as a pad-design mentor and not design one herself, she has designed a set of tins to carry said pads in. But, the ever unfiltered Field added, the colorful tins are also good for carrying anything–she said she’d store her pills and cigarettes in them.
We sat down with the legendary Sex and the City costume designer to ask just how on earth this strangest of collaborations came about, and if she could design “femme care” (as we learned it’s called in the biz), what would it look like.
It seems that stylist Patricia Field might have been a little too inspired by Alexander McQueen‘s four finger clutch. McQueen’s comes in several styles and color ways–lacquered lace, studded black leather, gold 3D flowers–as does Field’s: pink, blue, brown, black. The biggest difference, unsurprisingly, is the price tag. McQueen’s styles average around $2,000. Field’s hover under $60.
Patricia Field, who is not known for subtlety in her styling or personal sartorial choices, threw a Disco Valentine’s Ball Friday night at Capitale in NYC. To get everyone in the mood for Valentine’s Day, she invited her fabulous friends to come in costume, preferably red.
Drag queens, lots of T&A, and a fair amount of Harajuku-esque dressing set the scene–this was not about tasteful fashion. Trojan was one of the sponsors, so you can only imagine what sort of debauchery was encouraged. The costume contest winners–for “Sexiest Couple,” “Sexiest Single,” and “Best Costume” were awarded trophies and a $4,000 shopping spree.
Patricia Field hired go-go dancers to entertain and get the crowd in the mood. She also dressed them–we spotted metallic snake skin bras, transparent harem pants, shiny pasties, and thongs–lots of thongs.

Bob Guccione Passes Away: Bob Guccione, the man best known for establishing the men’s magazine Penthouse (but for our purposes, he’s the man who launched Anna Wintour’s career), has passed away of throat cancer. Guccione gave Wintour her first job in the magazine industry in the late 1970′s when he hired her as the fashion editor of his adult magazine, Viva. {People}

Fashion’s Night Out is a little more than a month away and more details are being revealed around the world as the night gets closer.
For one, Hamish Bowles and Lauren Santo-Domingo will not be the only Vogue editors to appear on the September 20 FNO-themed Gossip Girl episode. Vogue market editor Meredith Melling-Burke will also make an appearance and we hear she’s wearing Chloe.
In other news, Payless is offering Facebook fans a chance to win a 5-day trip to NYC for Fashion’s Night Out. The “All Fashion Pass” will include access to the Vogue fashion show and a meet and greet with Payless designers Christian Siriano, Patricia Field, Lela Rose and Isabel Toledo. This actually sounds really cool.
From NYC to Australia, Chanel to Billy Reid, we’ve got the scoop on even more major FNO events you won’t want to miss.
