Photographer (and Franca Sozzani’s Son) Francesco Carrozzini On the Importance of Blogs, Fruit of the Loom, and His New Site Lifestyle Mirror

What do you get when you combine two dashingly handsome, charming and well-connected Italian men? In this case, you get Lifestylemirror.com–a well curated content-based website that acts as a portal for online shopping. Last night the site’s founders Emanuele Della Valle and Francesco Carrozzini hosted a party at the website’s new event space in Chelsea to welcome summer, and there was no shortage of free flowing Ruinart champagne and well-heeled friends.

It’s no surprise those friends include the likes of Anne Hatheway (looking very gamine with pixie hair and Charlotte Olympia cat flats), Natalie Joos, Johan Lindberg (who told us he wears a scarf, white t-shirt and jacket even to the beach), and Meredith Melling Burke, just to name a few, considering both men were already part of the industry in utero. Della Valle is son of Tod’s billionaire CEO Diego Della Valle, and Carrozzini is son of Vogue Italia EIC Franca Sozzani.

Paz de la Huerta Models Joe’s Jeans in a Circus Hoop at 14 Feet in the Air

Paz de la Huerta Models Joe’s Jeans in a Circus Hoop at 14 Feet in the Air

Paz de la Huerta is the face of Joe’s Jeans fall campaign which celebrates the brand’s 10th anniversary. According to a release, creative director Joe Dahan chose de la Huerta “for her sultry nature and untamed beauty.” If “untamed” can also encompass de la Huerta’s recent drunk antics–including being charged with assault after punching model Samantha Swetra in the face and then throwing a glass at her at the Standard back in March–then that’s an apt descriptor.

The campaign, photographed by Tao Ruspoli, puts the “Boardwalk Empire” actress in an old time-y circus where she rides a vintage merry-go-round, dangles from an aerial hoop suspended 14 feet in the air, is strapped to a spinning wheel in front of a knife thrower, and then just stares at herself in a mirror. “Masterfully suspended like a wild cat, Paz gazes at you, rendering you powerless,” the release reads.

Are you powerless yet? Click through to see the rest of the campaign.

Last Night’s Party: Coach Celebrates the High Line with Paz de la Huerta and Dan Humphrey

Last Night’s Party: Coach Celebrates the High Line with Paz de la Huerta and Dan Humphrey

Crowd pleaser Coach hosted last night’s Summer Party on the High Line. There we found custom monogrammed luggage tags, Dan Humphrey (aka Gossip Girl‘s Penn Badgley) rocking some chest hair, and possibly even more exciting (depending on your appreciation for male cleavage): Grey Goose-spiked ice pops.

After accidentally trekking our best shoes through the park’s new water feature–warning: look down or you’ll get soaked–we stumbled upon a rouge-lipped Paz de la Huerta dressed in a black Gucci number and a re-issued Coach bag. It was the Boardwalk Empire star’s first time in the park since its re-opening, “I used to come here as a child before it was the High Line,” she told us. As for the attention her lipstick’s been getting these days, she said, “The whole thing is ridiculous, it has nothing to do with the color of my clothing. Tonight I’m not wearing a red dress, and I would never match this with black lipstick.”

Anne Slowey is Real Funny: Elle‘s Anne Slowey hilariously recounts some boozy safari she once took with some “Hollywood power players” for a story about how to wear tribal prints. Highlights? “We called ourselves ‘Bush in the Bush,’ to the delight of the male guests, if that helps bring the nature of this trip into focus,” and “Our main concerns were what time each day was gin o’clock and who among us was having very loud, robust sex all night with the incredibly handsome lead guide (it wasn’t me).” {Elle}

Street Style Gets Better With Age: And Nowness’s new short film with “Advanced Style” blogger Ari Seth Cohen and filmmaker Lina Plioplyte featuring New York’s most fashionable ladies of a certain age proves it. Street style stars take note–this is how it’s done. {NOWNESS}

Paz Throws a Punch: Paz de la Heurta drunkenly crashed into a table at the top of the Standard this past weekend, prompting model Samantha Swetra, who was hanging with Lindsay Lohan, to call out “triple axel!” Which quickly became not so funny as de la Heurta responded by punching Swetra in the face and throwing a glass at her leg. {Gatecrasher}

Would You Ever Match Your Lipstick To Your Dress?

Would You Ever Match Your Lipstick To Your Dress?

Is it ever OK to match your makeup to your outfit? Not just coordinate. I mean go full-on matchy-matchy. This is the question consuming us today thanks to the sharp eyes at Gawker, who noticed that Paz de la Huerta always matches her lipstick to her dress.

In case you don’t know Paz, she’s an actress in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and did some indie projects prior to that. She has a reputation for being naked a lot. There’s an absolutely brilliant profile of her in New York Magazine which states, “Paz only wears black, so as not to detract from her personality.” Apparently that’s changed now that she has to promote her show and hit the red carpet regularly. She’s got the lipstick wardrobe to prove it. (I won’t comment on some of the other makeup issues she has happening in the pictures.)

I’m completely torn on this. Just yesterday I was admiring a pic of Anna Dello Russo on Jak & Jil in which her hot pink lipstick matches her Prada fur stole. Is that better or worse than matching it to your whole dress?
