Kate Middleton Wears Joseph to Prince Edward Island (Canada Outfit #8)

Kate Middleton Wears Joseph to Prince Edward Island (Canada Outfit #8)

Outfit # 8: Kate Middleton landed in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island yesterday, wearing a lovely shell-colored Joseph shift and pale pink tweed jacket. The duchess looked fantastic, but can we just talk about the fact that William hasn’t changed his suit? Perhaps he should switch to something lighter when he gets to Los Angeles? Maybe tan? Or seersucker?

Kate Middleton Won’t Accept Free Clothes, Is Striking ‘Private Agreements’ With Designers

Kate Middleton Won’t Accept Free Clothes, Is Striking ‘Private Agreements’ With Designers

Today in Kate Middleton wardrobe news, royal officials are decidedly being more tight-lipped about Kate Middelton’s fashion choices than almost anything else. The level of secrecy that surrounded her wedding dress was only the beginning.

As we’re sure you’ve heard, William and Kate are about to embark on a tour of North America—starting with Canada, followed by a trip to California. As usual, we’re all wondering what Kate is planning to wear to charm us North Americans at her many scheduled appearances. According to a spokesman for the couple quoted in a People story about Prince William’s 29th birthday (happy bday!), it’s a secret, but she definitely will not be wearing anything that hasn’t been paid for. Like the American first lady to whom she has been compared on more than one occasion, Middleton “has a policy not to accept any free offers of clothing.” She also “will not receive any special clothing budget for the Canada and California tour.”

Will and Kate’s California Itinerary Revealed: Polo, Party and Poor Kids

Will and Kate’s California Itinerary Revealed: Polo, Party and Poor Kids

Finally, we can stalk the new royal couple more efficiently–the official itinerary for the California leg of their upcoming July North American tour was released earlier today. As is appropriate, their schedule revolves heavily around British interests here in the U.S. And yes, there are ample opportunities for Kate to show us her evolving wardrobe–that Jenny Packham gown from last week makes us want to see more. It should also be interesting to see if and how Kate adapts to laid-back California style. Check out the itinerary and plan your schedules accordingly:

Kate Middleton and Prince William Cover Vanity Fair, Their North American Tour Itinerary Revealed and…Pippa’s Cleavage

Kate Middleton and Prince William Cover Vanity Fair, Their North American Tour Itinerary Revealed and…Pippa’s Cleavage

Nothing like coming back from a long weekend to be bombarded with news and images of the newly-minted royal couple and Pippa Middleton. From the North American trip itinerary to a new Vanity Fair cover to ogling Pippa courtside at the French Open, we are reveling in all the news.

First off, the cover of the July issue of Vanity Fair features Kate and William in a never-before-seen snap taken shortly after their engagement in November 2010. Shot by Mario Testino, the couple looks relaxed and happy; it’s less formal than their original engagement portrait. And if you keep track of these things, this cover comes 14 years after Testino shot Diana for the cover of Vanity Fair.

The article, which drops June 3, features details of the couple’s home life (who does which chores!), the experience of watching their own wedding on TV, and some honeymoon details. Other Testino pictures, including Princess Diana from 1997, are included in the feature.

The Vanity Fair cover and feature coincides nicely with the royal couple’s upcoming North American tour.

Kate Middleton is Coming to America (For the First Time Ever)

Kate Middleton is Coming to America (For the First Time Ever)

OMG Kate Middleton is coming to the States!

Considering us Americans were far more obsessed with Kate Middleton and the royal wedding than Brits seemed to be (not that our obsession has waned), it’s only right that she come visit us. Clarence House announced today that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit California from July 8 through 10. It’s the first time Kate Middleton has ever visited the States, and the first time Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, will visit the US in an official capacity.

Can’t wait to see Kate Middleton’s California girl wardrobe.

The List of Royal Wedding Attendees is Out, We Pick Their Outfits For the Big Day

It’s come to the point that Royal Wedding Mania might be a diagnosable disease. While I’ve been trying to remain aloof, day by day it becomes increasingly more difficult to avoid. I was finally sucked in today after the guest list was released, meaning I spent all day picking out outfits for the ten most fashionable attendees (outside the wedding party).

Amongst the Golden Ticket holders (it does feel a little like Willy Wonka doesn’t it?) are the Beckhams, Elton John, Mario Testino, and Joss Stone, naturally.

Click through to see what we hope the Royal Wedding attendees wear, and be warned, our picks are a little (OK, a lot) non-traditional for Westminster Abbey (bare shoulders! gasp!).

Tom Ford Makes the Time 100 List (See the Other Fashion Influencers Who Made the List Too)

Tom Ford Makes the Time 100 List (See the Other Fashion Influencers Who Made the List Too)

Every year Time magazine publishes its list of the 100 most influential people in the world. What’s great about this list is that it’s not all heads of state and scientists. Time acknowledges pop culture’s influence on the world. Fashion doesn’t always get a mention, but this year a heavy-hitter got a nod from the mag.

Tom Ford was honored, along with the people you would expect to be on this type of list, like Mark Zuckerberg and Julian Assange. Tom has obviously had quite a stellar few years, what with the growth of his beauty business, his luxe menswear, a directorial debut, and last year’s much-hyped return to women’s RTW. Rita Wilson, who frequently writes gushy things about Tom, did not disappoint in her Time tribute to him. She starts with this: “Thomas Carlyle Ford. Even his given name reflects the elegance with which it would become synonymous.” You get the idea.

WWD noted that “Ford is the only fashion industry player to make this year’s list,” but we beg to differ.
